Today’s Democrats

Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA)
quote:
During debate on the SCHIP children's health care legislation today, Rep. Stark stated: "You don't have money to fund the war or children. But you're going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the President's amusement."

http://breitbart.tv/html/6912.html

I guess that this democrat believes that GI’s kill innocent people and the President is amused when soldiers get killed.

Despite house rules (when has a dem EVER followed the rules) barring personal attacks, the house speaker said very little if anything to Rep. Pete Stark (D-Ca).

And now a list of all the dems that stood up and condemned his behavior for what he said and as a violation of the house rules.

Begin list.

End list.

Today’s Democrats!

Well 'ole dingy harry disgraced himself again today, this time surrendering to RUSH and trying to make it sound as though he and RUSH were responsible for the money the Foundation will receive, this on the Senate floor no less!
He was screaming trying to get on the bus, but it had already left the station, as usual in his case!
Did anybody notice he did not apologize for his lies or offer to donate one thin dime, he was challenged to match the bid price by RUSH!

TAKE IT TO THE BANK!!!!!

Harry Reid said today
quote:
This week, Rush Limbaugh put the original copy of that letter up for auction on e-bay. Mr. President, we didn't have time, or we could have gotten every senator to sign that letter. But he put the letter up for auction on e-bay and I think very, very constructively, left the proceeds of that it go to the Marine Corps law enforcements foundation. That provides scholarship assistance to marines and federal law enforcement personnel whose parents fall in the line of duty. What could be a more worthwhile cause? I think it's really good that this money on e-bay is going to be raised for this purpose. ...
Never did we think that this letter would bring money of this nature.

http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=Mjk5NDdlZmJhZj...N2EzYWRiNzdjNGRjNzM=

Uh-huh. So now Harry wants everyone to think that he participated in the fund-raising effort deliberately. He wants to take credit for over $4 million in donations that came from two people -- the bidder, and the man Reid intended to smear and intimidate. That's not just laughable, it's pathetic.

'Ole dingy harry probably still does not realize why the letter is so valuable!!!!!
This is the most brazen attempt ever trying to intimidate a private citizen with the full weight of the Senate behind the effort, at least the weight of the members steeped in hatred or too ignorant to realize what they were putting their signatures upon!!!!!!!
Now RUSH is going to raise another bundle for the foundation selling signed copies!!!!!!!!

This is today’s MSM carrying the dems water.

Referring to the Ebay auction of the dems letter to crush Rush Limbaugh’s 1st amendment rights. This is what was “reported” on Abcnews

quote:
The bidding ends at 1:00p.m. No mater what, Democrats are going to make a ton of money for a charity off their political vitriol.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2007/10/bidding-over-2m.html

I got to agree with Limbaugh and Koski and many repubs on this one.
Harry Ried and others have overstepped thier authority astoundingy on this.
Thier blatant attempt to censure and contol limbaugh is totally unexcusable.
No way is free speech to be trampled on by politicians with such power!
I am flabergasted by what they have done.
Totally repugnant and stupid if I ever saw.
Even Nazis have the right to free speech in this country.
Dems have shot themselves in the foot this time and will be limping for a while.
At least the money is going to a great cause, with no thnks to Harry and the others.
If the Dems wanted to redeem themselves on this, they should have made sure "they " were the ones who purchased the letter!

Boy this is as stupid as they come.

The entire story arc of the letter and its auction showed a clear difference between liberals and conservatives:

The conservative thinks of a free-market way of raising private funds to aid a worthwhile causes and backs his commitment with his own money.
The liberal asks other people to donate funds, doesn't donate any of his own money, and tries to take credit for the generosity of others.

In the meantime, Senator Reid still hasn't announced any contribution of his own to the Marine Corps - Law Enforcement Fund, despite trying to take credit for Rush Limbaugh's fundraising efforts and Rush's own personal contribution. Neither have any of his 40 co-signers.

Minnesota Fifth District Rep. Keith Ellison (D) took to the floor of Congress to speak in anticipation of the anniversary of the death of the late Senator Paul Wellstone.

quote:

It was a long night, Mr. Speaker, when we heard back the reports as the news reports said that a plane has gone down in Ely, Minnesota, and it was thought to be containing Paul Wellstone and his partner, Sheila Wellstone, and their daughter and several other campaigners. We hoped all night that what we thought might have happened didn't happen, but at the end of the evening, we learned that that tragedy, in fact, did occur. Our worst fears were confirmed when we learned that we lost him, but it was a long several hours before we realized that that tragedy had actually occurred, and we had hoped against hope. I will never forget that night.

This is what I like about Democrats; they never ever let reality get in the way of how they feel.

quote:
The plane went down in snowy, frozen rain and then burst into flames in a wooded area about 7 miles east of Eveleth-Virginia Municipal Airport. Officials said the last contact with the plane was at 10:20 a.m. CDT when the plane was about 2 miles from the airport.

http://www.cnn.com/2002/ALLPOLITICS/10/25/plane.crash.minn/index.html

It wasn’t a long night, it was in the day 10:20 AM and Jeff Blodgett announced his death a few hours after that. Also the plane went down in Eveleth-Virginia not Ely MN. If you're going to make a heartfelt tribute, you've got to get the basic facts right.

The socialist liberal kooks and the socialist donkies will lie if the truth is twice as good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I see where the socialist donkies are going to cut their congressional work week after braying that they were going to work more when they took over!!!!!!!!
Apparently their reasoning is since they screw up everything they do they will have less blunders if they work less!!!!!!!

I s no news good news or bad news? In Iraq, it seems good news is deemed no news. There has been striking success in the past few months in the attempt to improve security, defeat al-Qaeda sympathisers and create the political conditions in which a settlement between the Shia and the Sunni communities can be reached. This has not been an accident but the consequence of a strategy overseen by General David Petraeus in the past several months. While summarised by the single word “surge” his efforts have not just been about putting more troops on the ground but also employing them in a more sophisticated manner. This drive has effectively broken whatever alliances might have been struck in the past by terrorist factions and aggrieved Sunnis. Cities such as Fallujah, once notorious centres of slaughter, have been transformed in a remarkable time.

snip..

The current achievements, and they are achievements, are being treated as almost an embarrassment in certain quarters. The entire context of the contest for the Democratic nomination for president has been based on the conclusion that Iraq is an absolute disaster and the first task of the next president is to extricate the United States at maximum speed.

Democrats are invested in defeat, they must change the subject FAST!

If you go back and read the 1st page of this thread you will see what our resident libs had to say

Mrs. Clinton told General Petraeus that his progress report on Iraq required "a willing suspension of disbelief."
