How many of you understand the debt ceiling relates to money we have already spent? If I remember correctly the President was ready to do a deal last summer that would have cut a great deal of spending along with revenue increases. Contrary to what tea party fanatics believe we cannot cut spending enough to make any dent in the debt. They never mention this little fact do they? What we can do is cut spending enough to put the economy in a tailspin and really screw things up. They never seem to mention that either. The tea party really wants to just chop governments legs off and they think somehow with no money the states will take over services. They don't want health care, any social safety net, any spending that isn't for the military. They want us to be just like Uganda in Africa. No thanks | |||
