My other 632 with Brodix BB-5 heads was considerably faster with Sunoco Blue vs Sunoco Red.

Prefer Q16 above all on both 598 & 632. A little emulsion change and the BLP 5120 wide body metering blocks.Minor mods to the booster channel.

Sunoco use the Supreme (Blue) It works up to 16 plus to 1. If you go above 16.4 or so then go to the Max (Red) VP - C14 is a great fuel that's been around a long time but over priced IMO. X16 is what I would recommend. At 15.5 to 1 Maximal and C16 are not the fuels for you. I have used Sunoco Blue and VP X16 and find no difference in performance in both a 632 12 & 18 degree motors and also a 632 SR20 motor at 16 to 1 with an occasional shot of NOS.

For what reasons would the c16 or maximal not be to correct fuel for a 15.5 to 1 compression ratio?

My 15-1 565 runs great on X-16 or Maximal. Sunoco is available almost everywhere and VP is not. I have also run Renegade 116 and Q-15 blend. The Q fuel is just to toxic for me and I can’t stand the stuff. Probably would gag a maggot at 50 paces......

Too much octane and the burn rate is too slow for that combo.

Injection and Methanol. And then you don't worry whose alky you buy. But I understand that wasn't asked so I will slowly back away Jeremiah Hall

I reckon one does not need a 7th grade English degree to a chemist at chevron? WOW!

We have ran injection and alcohol for over 10 years, switching to gas

Only on an Internet forum can a guy whose user name is horseshoe and who states on his profile he's a horse trainer claim to be a chemist for a petroleum company. Hell if we've got some self proclaimed propulsion experts here that think they are rocket scientists, I guess there's room for a bar tender that thinks he's a chemist.

When you compare at the spec’s of VP and Sunoco you discover some interesting facts. VP C-12 MON 108 RON 110 = 109 S/G .717 Supreme MON 109 RON 115 = 112 S/G .715 VP C-14 MON 114 RON 116 = 115 S/G .690 VP C-15 MON 115 RON 117 = 116 S/G .713 Maximal MON 112 RON 117 = 116 S/G .713 VP C-16 MON 117 RON 118 = 117.5 S/G .733 I have a 15.5:1 582 using conventional 24 degree cylinder heads. There was zero (performance) difference between the Sunoco Maximal and the VP C-15....the only difference was the cost. The VP was substantially more expensive. BobThis message has been edited. The 3 most consistent answers I am getting is VP x16 VP c15 And Sunoco blue (112) With the sunnoco blue being 475 a drum The VP x16 being 600 The VP c15 being 750 And most everyone seems to say those 3 fuels won't be any different in performance

I have a SBC, just under 15:1. Did a back to back test between Sunoco Blue and Red. Same day, within 1/2 hour of each other. ZERO difference in ET and MPH. I usually use Blue, but if they are out I can use Red. The Red wants to run a little leaner than the Blue if you care to keep EGT's the same. Not that this helps the OP with a BBC. But in my case, they are interchangeable.

I need to move to Georgia, $475 for a drum of Sunoco Blue, here it runs nearly $600 including Governor Moonbeams Sale Tax. Bob

I have just recently read of s racer using late model plus I'm his aluminum 598 sr20. Said it was good for a few hp and ran cooler.

One of them is me...they are gonna call it X14...but I seen zero improvement...and like stated earlier at $200+ more per drum...IM OUT....
