I see several pump ads, but most are not compatible with Methanol. Does anyone have experience?

It does need to be Methanol rated; otherwise, over time, it will deteriorate.

We have used the cheapo Harbor Freight ones and they work just fine. One time I was there they were on sale for 17 bucks so I threw 5-6 in my cart for myself and Dad. All are still in operation as far as I know. Methanol and gasoline.

The Tera pump works great, red top for gas and diesel. Black top for alcohol. I think I got 2 full seasons on one and it died, cheap enough I bought a few more. I use them in my shop and in my trailer.

Some of my friends have had one of these and I just got one: https://www.amazon.com/TERA-PU...harge/dp/B088YNN4J1/

Like it so far. The link above is the methanol version, there is also a gas version that has a red top.

183N, that is the one I plan to buy. Looks like a reasonable tool. At age 78, I need all the mechanical lifting help I can get. The main benefit I see is better control with not overfilling or spilling.

I bought a Mr. Gasket pump 3 years ago and it's still going strong, I run methanol exclusively.

Is this the one you used?

I was looking at adapting one of these to a fuel jug, no batteries required.

After you turn the pump off, does fuel remain in the hose or will it drain back into the jug if hose held upright?? Does anything seal the hose end when not in use?

Fuel will drain back if the hose is held upright. The battery housing/switch has a spot to insert hose end, it's not totally sealed.

2BKING has (2) Tera pumps, one for race fuel & another for generator fuel. Smile

I have 2 Tera pumps, one red top for gas and the other black top for Methanol. The methanol pump has always been slower than the gas pump for some reason.

Maybe I am just being paranoid but I always remove the batteries when the fuel jugs are being transported in the trailer for fear the pump may turn on for some reason and pump fuel out in the trailer

Love my Tera pump

I take it out of jug completely and put regular cap on for transport

My reasoning for leaving it in the jug was so the pump seal does not dry out, especially on the methanal pump.
