I use two delrin bushings in my steering column I purchased from RJ Racecars.I have looked around for a shouldered bushing with needle bearings in hopes of a better feel but with no luck. Anyone know of a bearing source I may have overlooked? Thanks | ||

McMaster-Carr has the shouldered bushings ( not needle bearing) in all sizes. I rebuit a dragster a few years ago and that is where I got them. They are great for all sorts of stuff. I have 50' of 1/4 quick connect tubing being delivered today that cost me $6. | |||

Yeah, I buy tons of stuff from them and we use lots of bushings although not usually from them. I was talking about the needle/sleeve bearings with a shoulder. Monte, you may be able to find a caged roller bearing [something like an alternator front bearing] that would be a slip fit on the shaft and just a fit in the outer tube. You could "trap" it in the outed tube with screws or rivets. Larry Woodfin | |||

A needle or roller bearing will require less steering effort. On builds where I removed an OE column and replaced it with a custom tubing column, the steering effort does increase. Larry Woodfin | |||
