Little ChiefDelrin bushing
I use two delrin bushings in my steering column I purchased from RJ Racecars.I have looked around for a shouldered bushing with needle bearings in hopes of a better feel but with no luck. Anyone know of a bearing source I may have overlooked? Thanks

CURTIS REEDI don't think I have ever seen a shouldered needle bearing. You could have replacement bushings made from Teflon®.

McMaster-Carr has the shouldered bushings ( not needle bearing) in all sizes. I rebuit a dragster a few years ago and that is where I got them. They are great for all sorts of stuff. I have 50' of 1/4 quick connect tubing being delivered today that cost me $6.

Yeah, I buy tons of stuff from them and we use lots of bushings although not usually from them. I was talking about the needle/sleeve bearings with a shoulder. If he has Acetal/Delrin bushings now not much will have less friction other than Teflon® or a bearing.

Top355xDoes it have to have the shoulder could you machine tube to use snap rings to hold bearings

David CoveyMCS,
3/4 Bore x 1 3/8 OD Flanged. 5.48 Each.
The OD may be to big for your column though.

Larry WoodfinMonte, you may be able to find a caged roller bearing [something like an alternator front bearing] that would be a slip fit on the shaft and just a fit in the outer tube. You could "trap" it in the outed tube with screws or rivets.

Larry WoodfinMaybe even use a different size outer tube if necessary

Larry WoodfinA needle or roller bearing will require less steering effort. On builds where I removed an OE column and replaced it with a custom tubing column, the steering effort does increase.

Little ChiefThank you all, Larry I will find a bearing that will work.
