billet manifolds will soon be what many builders use and racers want on their bracket dragster/TD & TS engines. MBE launched their billet manifolds earlier this year and a good friend of mine whose name is on the manifold they are using in the video, runs their 9 degree heads too with this manifold.

and now APD has done the same for a Dart/CFE 11 degree head and they are working on one for a Brodix 20 degree and 16.5 degree now.

I saw the APD version first hand back in October and it's a nice piece but how many will want or can afford to fork out $6500 for a manifold? It would be interesting to see what the actual power increase is on the dyno and on the track.

Probably will become more common eventually...but not at the current $6500 price point. At least for the APD version.

Ed I thought you weren't impressed with the performance of the 9 degree deal?

I'm not. I have yet to see any 9 degree combo that is impressive. There maybe on or 2 out there but of all the ones I have seen first hand, none impressed me.

what's another $6500 when you are already spending, $35 - $40K?

Really like 4000 more after porting a cast manifold. I think the bigger picture is that it will lead people into going the boosted route for "cheap easy" horsepower

this is impressive but other than what's stated, I know nothing about it. would like to know the weight going down track.

Well he said 45 to 65 more Horsepower that is significant if true. Horsepower cost money, how fast do you want to go? If it does help power that much sure makes it more cost effective even at $6500. Now if it does not help as much as they said............

But if you want more direct line of sight to the ports and lighter weight I think a good sheetmetal intake may be better.

I wonder how many hours on the CNC it takes to make one. I bet those manifolds make a big pile of chips.

Well it is pretty impressive performance N/A no matter the weight of it. And with a GET'M carb to.

They look amazing that’s for sure. Not something I can personally justify the cost on at this time…. But they are are nice and I’ll have a little jealousy every time I see one I’m sure

Haven’t heard from Boo yet but a really close friend of mine that is friends with Boo says it’s not a carbon body. TNT car with aluminum block. Joe Jolly did the heads personally.

thanks for the info so at a minimum, Joe "hand tuned" his cnc'd casting which would be additional $ and not something he normally does

back in March...

So Mike if you or Tony want to guarantee your claims, let’s get this deal done today, if not it’s all marketing claims.

I don't build or sell carbs anymore - however if I did, I'd take you up on your challenge, but you'd have to agree to also buying a big blue bottle in order to put a tenth on that ATM. I'm a big fan of theirs and I'm sure their 2.400 program is stout, so you're in good shape. I appreciate the offer but will have to pass...

Man, sounds like the rich people's problems are continuing to increase. Almost makes me glad I don't have to deal with those. Big Grin Wink Take care. Tom Worthington

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.
