I don’t like to say never but pretty sure I’m never going back to Noble. Oklahoma in general is my bad luck state, I drive across the border into Oklahoma and sh—t starts falling off the trailer. Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right. Here I am.......

So 1399 out of a 655 9*? I’ve seen SR20 headed engines make within 15hp of that

Billet intakes? Does the air & fuel mixture know what the runners are made of? Looks like another place to spend $$$ needlessly. Mike

And as far as weight savings, I'm pretty sure the OEM's are currently making intakes out of plastics. Mike

Def won’t disagree with this. I know the 588 sr20 has been 4.50 at 2700lbs on motors. So it is a stout piece. Looking forward to seeing what they are doing on this 615 dr9 head engine. Little shop but pretty good place up here.

We run with a couple SR20 engines in NMCA NA10.5. One is a 615" engine thats been low low 7.60's and ben over 180 in a 3300lb Firebird on a 29.5x10.5 tire..Engine was built by Uratchko. there is no one with a 9 degree head in the class. Al, you go fast guys are never honest. Just by the fact that you call this an sr20 headed engine, presenting it as if it’s just another of the many 20 degree 615s is disingenuous at best. The only truth there is the heads are SR but came directly from slick rick and it is 600+ cubic inches other than that, this engine couldn’t be any more different than a sr20 headed 615 that bracket racers and class racers would have built by anyone of the biggest names in sportsman engine building.

Even if this was an all Coke Can motor I call BS. I'd really like to know what could be so different than my steel 598 with sr20's! Michael Frizie ET 2471

Your Bracket 598 SR20 probably doesn’t have 16:1+, 1.050” lift cam, 2.45 or larger custom TItanium intake valve, .6mm ring package, etc. The heads and intake on the 588 also have custom ports in them that likely flow another 50-60 cfm than yours. Then the sum of all that is peak power at 8800-9000 RPM and 9400-9500 shift points. Those are the kind of differences. Different tools for different jobs. Jason G. Not trying to show anything other than the POTENTIAL for that 20 degree cylinder head. And there are plenty of them out there that run really well and over 180 in S/C. Also to point out the few who have tried the 9 degree in the NA world have moved on. "I am not ashamed to confess I am ignorant of what I do not know." Marcus Tullius Cicero

I know, we’ve been 189 in S/C. That said, the engine you speak of is more than double the price of the typical 20 degree 615 bracket and or throttle stop engine. Many here don’t have a clue to what these engines cost to build for class specific heads up racing. Over a decade ago, the front runners in the former TPSA running 565s, with heads that were the foundation to what we know today as SR20 heads, were spending upwards of $80k to build these engines!
