I'm assembling a new dragster I had built and I'm trying to decide on if I should offer the chassis for sale with a glide or not....I have a shortie ATI and a full length Hughes .... the shortie would require a 24"-25" driveshaft and the full length trans would take a 3"-4"....OR ... let the buyer worry about it? This is a 6.0 cert car I had built for TD.....No tracks out here anymore so I'm building a street rod. Don't need the dragster now and don't want to put more money into it just to sell it.... . Dave I presume this is a hardtail dragster. Is there a tail shaft mount for the long shaft transmission? With the full length transmission can you use a straight short coupler? If so that would be my choice. Bruce Lee ![]() Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.

Bruce. you know I love me a good hardtail digger....But this is a 240" 4-link twin shocks with a wishbone.... . Dave F J B

IMO since going to have driveshaft either way I would go with short shaft if selling with trans. Since rarely get everything back on racecar I would not even put a trans in it unless just needing to get rid of one. America home of free. Brought to you by 2nd amendment.

I’ve never seen a dragster with a full length transmission…not to say that they don’t exist, I’ve just never seen one. I would probably list it as a roller/no trans and say you do have a trans available for extra $ and maybe someone will want both and you can make a deal.

What’s the shortie glide good case or stock case and any interest in selling that

It's an ATI case and bell...don't remember what the 1st gear is.....I can look for the paperwork if it matters to you....I hadn't thought about a price just figured putting in this new dragster as a selling point...doesn't mean I won't sell it by itself though . Dave F J B

CORRECTION...... The shortie trans is not an ATI.....It's an FTI case and bell.....sorry I mis-typed above . Dave F J B

If its a 4 link rear suspension you will need a driveshaft for the suspension movement. Bruce Lee ![]() Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.

Geez....I didn't even think about that Bruce...Always had hardtails, long glides and couplers....Well that settles that huh? Guess I'm running the shortie glide and a driveshaft.....Where does one buy a 25" driveshaft? Now another question....butterfly or small flat indy type steering wheel? What is preferred now days ? . I've had one car with each type of steering wheel. I think I can honestly say I have no preference whatsoever. Tony Leonard
