No their not, but installed height will dictate what spring you can use. If the valves are not long enough you cant use a taller installed height. And if the valves are too long then you will have to close up the gap so there is not too much. Iskys are good springs, but have a damper which eats into ti retainers. Manley 221424 are good. PSI 1224 All are about the same open closed. If you don't have a height mic and a spring tester, correct size shims, spring seats and retainers ya probably ought to have a shop set them up. | |||

It may not be a pressure issue. I had an issue when I would get above 7150 and by tightening up my coil bind numbers with the same springs I got rid of it. It did up my seat pressure some but not a great deal. Obviously you need all the tools to measure where you are to close up coil bind numbers. I am running .070" on my intakes and you have to know for sure where you are when you start getting tight on them. Another possibility is a geometry problem. Did you set up the valve train? How sure are you on geometry? Many times just throwing spring at it will cover up a problem and that's why so many times that is the suggested path. Another option is looking at what rate your springs are and upping the rate without changing the installed dimensions much. Rate may help if you're running big heavy SS valves to control momentum. It's nice to know all the numbers of your valve train when you're fighting a problem. Not my philosophy, FACTS and the TRUTH! Further you wouldn’t have a clue to who is right or wrong. I and others have tried to help you in your numerous posts questioning your on track performance where you continually use the words “I think”, thoughts that came as a result of what some knucklehead on line told you and/or sold you, yet it never produces the results you “think it will! The fact is you don’t want advice, you want confirmation of what you already decided to do so why post here. Call your internet conman/salesman and tell him you want new valve springs! The only relevant to the topic post was from Bad News, look into your installed height, if it's 2.000" or just under, the [9999RAD] Tool Room spring will be a good fit. Like I said, nobody I know, has ever heard of a Tool Room spring failing. They're permanent. It goes without saying, ignore tech from those who don't have any hands on experience, Bad News does build his own power plant, the same as I do. Wanna be Ed uses whatever comes in the crate engine he orders over the phone. | |||

My opinion, but guys need to quit putting valve springs on their engine with intent on making 1000 passes with them before they change them. Since putting springs on my engine that will make 150-200 passes, and changing them at that interval, my valve train looks way better and i do not beat lifters up as bad. Side benefit is it is faster with dual springs than triples. But to each their own. Jeremiah Hall | |||

Tool steel springs dont like RPM when they are cold. Reving an engine before the engine is heat soaked is what most likely took those springs out. Jeremiah Hall | |||
