I had my glide gone through this winter. Went from stock case to BTE sfi case with roller tail. Put a new 1.80 planetary in as well. I put the car back together and I have no reverse and seems to make a slight chirping or sqealing when in gear. It has a pro brake, the solenoid pulls in when applying the brake. When I release the brake the solenoid doesn't push back out. I didn't drive the car but it feels like it pulls in forward gears and has nothing in reverse. BTE said it needs a blocking plate if using a stock governor support. I pulled the trans and the guy went through it finding nothing wrong. He is installing a plate but says it is not blocking anything so don't see how that can fix anything. The slight noise and fact it won't push the TB solenoid back out has me worried. It had a 2 ring powerglide spline shaft and we put a single ring turbo shaft in it. Also running a new converter. Any suggestions of what we may be missing. He is going to try get it on a dyno on Monday.

Whats your presure at the servo cover?
|

Didn't pull any tests because we thought it was the missing cover plate causing it. Only reason I pulled transmission was because when I pulled the tail shaft there was a few shavings inside. He said there was no shavings in the main transmission, I screened the fluid and was very little in it. We figured with a few shavings and the noise something was rubbing but he can't find anything.

W/o a presure reading ur guessing I had one that the valve body had "stuff" inside it still after the rebuild and I only had like 125lbs of presure, make sure the right valve body gaskets were installed too some are diffrent.

Ya really kicking myself now for not checking pressure before ripping it back out.

air check reverse piston thank you, president Trump

Had the same problem with my Powerglide. Turned out to be a cracked and bent rooster gear. Wouldn’t engage reverse. Damaged from strapping the car down in park. Easy to check.

Interesting, the car is alawys strapped in neutral but will check it out.

sounds like pressure is way low .... converter installed correctly engaging pump gears?

It was ran on a dyno today. 200 psi line pressure, 60 psi cooler pressure, 0 psi reverse pressure.

Looks like you have a leak or weak pump. besides the obvious zero reverse pressure the line pressure should be 230-250 psi for a transbrake trans

I wondered about that but they acted like it was good. My other ones are 250-275 but this one is a stock pump and only behind 700hp.

I dont know that may be good for a stock pump and case but what I would be concerned with is once the reverse pressure issue is fixed, what will the pressure drop to when the TB is applied and will it recover quick enough to hold the car and not rock or creep?. My Reid case, Reid pump with a Sonnax boast valve in the valve body the pressure is 275 at idle and 290 going down the track

I would be curious if the reverse feed hole was drilled properly or not at all. since this is a new case. Oil feed hole for reverse piston. not drilled>> no reverse

That is what they were thinking but haven't had time to look into it.
