At what 60ft times do you run into oil starvation problems

Haven't gone that quick, not a problem at this point (1.07). Bob

I agree with Bob; I've been 1.06 without an issue. 2BKING ![]() ![]() 1980 Camaro Taking the Best Working Small Tire Shyt Box & making it Greater Than Before! 3000 lbs. Pump Gas 436

There has to be a point where the oil returning to the pan all sticks to the back of the motor, one would think

Wet sump , dry sump good oil pan ? Big wheelies or? If your pan has good windage and baffle’s you shouldn’t have an issue. The TS ride see’s 3 plus G sometimes, dry sump no issues .980’s 60 foot. More of an issue for us is braking with stock style wet sump pans. California Screaming! Raceless in California!

Wow not good! What style pan? Motor? The reason I ask is possibly low oil level depending on pan style and car configurations. California Screaming! Raceless in California!

"Lost" rod bearings?? Burned up? Scuffed? Got any pictures? Which throws? I'm assuming two journals, both rods on each? Off the top, I'm going to guess there was some debris in the crank oil passages. Need much more information...but it wasn't oil control problems.....I made a complete 1/8th mile run, and the drive back to the trailer, with the oil pump drive broken, zero pressure, and no issues when I got oil pump drive again. You'd be shocked at how long an engine will run with no oil pressure. Anyone else remember when IHRA had to make a minimum oil rule in Top Stock class? No issues here at .957. If it was new I'd look at a clearance issue.

My son Mike's car is frequently in the .950's with no problems, (however it's not a Hemi). Something certainly isn't right with the oil pump system (sucking air at the base, etc.). Maybe time to carefully check the oiling system or change to a dry sump, or as Jodie mentioned a clearance issue. In any event I'd contact Phil Oakley (Owensboro) in Kentucky. I dont think it was a clearance issue. Will bearing damage give me a clue

Don't forget about it maybe getting stuck up top too and not getting back to pan. What oil pressure did it have, weight of oil, and oil filter?

How much run time did the engine have before that pass? Any dyno pulls, Or run-in on a stand or in the chassis? Did you have any type of data recording system? I know I don't look at my oil pressure gauge going down track... Dan "Jim" Moore Much too young to feel this damn old!!
