Footbrake, gasoline, no alcohol, I think a 650 should suffice

I’m prejudiced but Mark Whitener has been great for me. Lightning Racing Carburetors. There are lots of builders out there, good luck with whatever you decide.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

As stated there a a number of good builders out there but I would not recommend Get'M!

For your deal give Tony Morris a call at TMC, he is in Florida. Good service and you will deal directly with him.

Rupert's son Will fixed up my Pro Systems carb and it's been flawless ever since. I've also have very good experience with John at AED. My carbs are alcohol for what that's worth.

Sounds like your a Get'M buddy! For those who aren't familiar with Get'M and TMC let's just say they don't share Christmas cards. I have no skin in this game and note that no one is perfect nor are the end users! But when a business owner sponsors a race with a product clearly advertised on the race flyer and they don't produce the product without the race promoter stepping in,,,, who wants to deal with that business? Not me.

Also, 62Galaxie is not looking for a comp elim. carb based on his post. Guys like Book and Cubic, who are great builders, are not what this guy is looking for.

Several of the local footbrake guys are using Wes May carbs and seem to be happy.

I have had two from Mark Whitener one alky and now this gas carb. Except for setting the idle they were both great out of the box. I sold the alky carb to some friends who then went quicker than they had ever been.

Good luck

I have a buddy who uses Book stuff. It is really good but Bob told him to not touch anything but main jets and only the ones he sent him and was pretty gruff about it.

On one hand I understand his name is on it and someone can mess it up, then blame Bob on the net. My thought though is, you can tell me what you prefer but it's my part bought and paid for so don't TELL me what to do with it. Granted I will probably do what you wants just because I came to him LOL.

I wonder does he have to use those ugly purple parts though? What got into everyone to use purple?

Mr Chevy2, I just report the facts,,, you mentioned Bob Book in one of your posts. A good friend of mine bought a 655 from a national engine builder. It had a pair of Get'M's on it. Ran OK on track but idle and part throttle weren't good. He worked with them trying air bleeds and a few other things. Nothing they tried really worked. He also had from another combo and set of Book's, not sure of the size difference, so I said why not try them. He did and it was night and day difference and they were .03 faster in the 1/8. After that day of racing he told me he knew how Get'M got their name, Get'M off my motor! True story, really! And BTW I bet I could get you a good deal on the Get'M carbs he still has boxed up, shoot me a PM.

So I guess I must be swinging from Book's nuts now?? Cool

Like I stated earlier, anyone can spend there money on any carb builder they choose, including Get'M, but they are 0 for 2 in my book, No PUN intended! Wink

I like reading this type of thread every year. Can’t imagine how many carbs tried/ failed everyone has sitting on the shelf. Makes mfi / efi much more appealing.

Easy enough now to AFR a carbureted setup if the numbers make you feel better. The ET slip and spark plugs are the end judge of what's best.

Oh, and BILLIONS of $$$$$ worth of failed high performance experiments out there.

Yes several of the really good racers around here run Wes May carbs and win a lot!

I have purchased a Pro Systems gas Dominator and when I dyno the next motor will also test several different carbs and headers.
