Car looks good. IMO it needs the correct tall rear spoiler installed. To me all 71-81 Camaros look like they have had something cut off when they don’t have that spoiler.

I like the lower rear spoiler, but I think the car will look better or more proportionate if I put on a smaller Sunoco hood on.

I appreciate your honest opinion on the rear spoiler!

Our racing program got a complete overhaul starting in 2020. Was the overhaul needed, no but it was a good move in my later years/bucket list. I always went to the track with way less than the Joneses. While I'm still behind the Joneses, I'm at a great place with my racing program. As always, I have to thank everyone who supported me physically, financially, mentally, spiritually; I've truly been blessed with support for almost 40 years!

I'm mainly going to focus on our family's 1980 Camaro. The only thing I haven't got done is some door panels. I have been procrastinating about getting some for 20+ years. I really need to get them ordered & installed! Roll Eyes

I have mostly run naturally aspirated & played with nitrous a little. I've always wanted a boosted car & started researching turbos & ProChargers. I know I didn't want a roots style blower. Anyway, after much research I decided on a ProCharger. I thought this would be the best for bracket racing with an SBC & make decent reliable HP/Torque.

I had a concept of how I wanted to race the combo. I thought I had posted it in this thread but couldn't find it. Anyway, I discussed the concept with Mike Rietow. To make this short, I wanted to have a small tire bracket car that runs low 9s with a high MPH. I think I've accomplished the goal but never fully tested when it comes to MPH. I have yet to show my hand with MPH. The best I've shown is low 9s with at 154.xx mph ripping the throttle after the 1,000' timer. Racers ask me how fast will it go? I don't have the answer, I've never run it out the back door.

As for regrets for building this combo, I have none now! The 1st year of racing the combo I had my doubts; the car was a handle full to drive/race. While it only took me 4 or 5 races to win & continue to win. It wasn't easy & I had to really babysit the car, something I wasn't used to. The car when it was NA it was always babysitting the driver; it was a great car & made bracket racing look easy.

The first year & half of the combo it was a wheelie monster & would go right hard on more occasions than I wanted. I did get it calmed down some & going straight with lots of suspension changes, along with power management. It was still not where I thought it should be.

The best thing I did with this set-up was changing the rear gear from a 3.89 to a 3.55. Then shortly after getting the Moroso front springs out of the car & converting the front AFCO shocks to the hybrid coilovers. Since doing this along with all the other previous changes. The car is an absolute dream to bracket & index race. It barely picks up the front tires, goes straight & is a super smooth ride with no drama!

I'm really enjoying my go to my grave race car. I left a lot of changes out or forgot. Plus, this post was becoming a short story; too windy for me.

No regrets & enjoying my retirement years!
