Good evening y'all. CPD had their last race of the season yesterday. I wasn't there, granddaughter had a play I couldn't miss. They had mild temps in the 60's, which I've been told made for some good racing. The weather gave them a good break. Friday was cold and crappy, today had been cold and crappy, but yesterday was a fine fine day. Fun couple days coming for us in the typically warm Southeast NC. Supposedly dropping to 18-20 deg here overnight and tomorrow night. Cold is a big no bueno for me. My body is designed for warm weather and goes on strike with those frozen temps. Those who are conditioned to the cold may get a kick outta our schools delaying the start of their day, due to it being cold. No water or snow on the roads to freeze, just gonna be cold, LOL... Nothing new on the hotrod here, other than picking up a new battery for the trailer, new battery tender and new roll bar padding. Might take Monday/Tuesday off from work and play in the garage instead. Y'all have a great evening and stay warm out there. William Kilduff 1970 Barracuda 1968 Camaro X2 1968 Caprice 1964 F100

10 here this morning William. To cold for me. Do they still have the winter fest at Kinston?

I just checked their website and their 2025 schedule shows Winterfest as Jan 10-11 2026, so weather permitting, I hope so. Dunno why, but apparently I brain****ed, thinking CPD valentines race would be my next opportunity. As long as things continue the way they're going right now, I may make Winterfest. Happy Saturday y'all. Floyd, hope Santa has proper rain gear and possibly a boat. He'll likely be in shorts and tank top when he gets to us. Think we're supposed to be sunny in the upper 60's all week. Pretty sure I have the car ready for the next opportunity for a race. Thinking about doing a few things to make preventative maintenance easier. Been a loooooong time since I had to adjust valves, until this car came along. My race cars years ago had hydraulic cams, since they're set and forget for the most part. Wasn't overly concerned with being quickest/fastest back then, just easy maintenance and consistency. Thinking about pulling plugs, setting each piston at firing TDC and marking the balancer. I remember friends doing that and it seems to make good sense. Been working some in the trailer to set it up. Figured out where water intrusion is at roofline. Gotta clean and reseal every seam up there, then replace a small bit of wood rot inside on one wall. Spending a fair bit of time cleaning up more of the garage also, more-so just as an excuse to fire up pops old record player and listen to the old Christmas albums. Got in a few hours with Sinatra, Beach Boys, Nat King Cole and others today. Been a really good week. Wife taking us out to look at local Christmas lights tonight. Y'all have a great weekend. BTR, This is what I recommend for checking valve lash. https://www.bing.com/search?q=...&clckatsg=1&hsmssg=0 2BKING ![]() 1980 Camaro Taking the Best Working Small Tire Shyt Box & making it Greater Than Before! 3100 lbs. Pump Gas 436

I've been using EOIC since getting this car going. Been checking after each time I run the engine in the shop, mainly for practice and to get it to become more "second nature", but also since I had one rocker that loosened up big time a few weeks ago. Pulled things apart and had an expert friend inspect lifters and rockers when that happened and it's been ok since. A friend mentioned using TDC a while back, which I had done sporadically in high school days. Decided to do that the last couple times checking lash and the process feels a little quicker and I'm turning with a breaker bar instead of bumping the starter. Doing it both ways hasn't shown any difference in the lash I see, but Using TDC feels better to me. I don't know how much bumping the starter may affect it over time, but maybe it's saving some wear there also? BTW, I like the way those headers you have turned out. Maybe I'm a little goofy, but raw with the seams showing like they are when bare looks really cool to me. William Kilduff 1970 Barracuda 1968 Camaro X2 1968 Caprice 1964 F100

Not goofy at all, I like them also! If they had a clear ceramic coat, they would be done like that; please don't tell me they have it. 2BKING ![]() 1980 Camaro Taking the Best Working Small Tire Shyt Box & making it Greater Than Before! 3100 lbs. Pump Gas 436

Merry Christmas all y'all. Been a busy week for me, getting things squared away for todays festivities. Guests have all gone home and I can relax now. Did surprisingly get to spend time with the race car today. Verified TDC for each piston and marked the balancer as planned. Ran engine for a bit for some heat and checked lash. Not that I'm in a race when I check them, but doing it this way took far less time today. Crossing my fingers that I can make time to race this weekend. CPD announced one last race for Saturday, since our temps are expected to be mid 60's. Granddaughter scored big time on the gift recipient side. Even saw Santa, (me) putting presents under the tree overnight. Got herself a lil pink Jeep to cruise around the property. Hopefully it's not the "woman driver" gene, but she sure as heck can't drive straight just yet. Thankfully, it has a parental remote to take over. LOL. I wish I'd have weighed myself earlier in the week. Gotta be 10 pounds heavier than Last week. Y'all have a great week. William Kilduff 1970 Barracuda 1968 Camaro X2 1968 Caprice 1964 F100

Yeah Bill. I know what you mean bout weight. Marty knocked it out of the park with a smoked prime rib. It's his goal every year to make one better. He did. Everybody got plenty to eat. Had 7 people over and everybody was very satisfied. I even had a short scotch. LOL
