That seems like a huge restriction to me knowing how much that pump will move. I filter after my Magna-Fuel 500 pump and I have a -12 feed line.

The way I read that's you have a 45-micron Peterson filter before the pump. That's a restriction in itself if in good shape/new. It should be a 100-micron pre-filter before the pump.

Does your pump have pump have a filter or is it the stand alone with no filter?

The way it should look is a 100-micron prefilter & minimum 40-micron post filter.

Of course, MagnaFuel is the authority on the system.

Enjoy the ribs, I need to smoke some up also; soon!

morning all .
Thanks for the support .
BKing yes Reinhart . Actually he came down into the pits and talked with us , especially re my mates 62 Chev bubbletop .
Well not great and not poor results . I feel the season is getting away from me . 2 rainouts and a mechanical is putting me up against the wall .
Went out in 1/4s after qualifying @ #3 with a 10.339/130 . Kinda got caught on the dial . Friday night humidity was way up at 85% so car slowed . Elims were 3 on Saturday 2 Sunday .
E1 was 9am car and driver were good went through on brake . E2 was 7.00ishpm so night /dark . DA was stable similar dial car ran slow 3 numbers at 660 minimal mph drop but still took the win .1/2hr then E3 agin just a little worse air but to cover the last run I put a .40 on window . Got clipped a little on tree then double breakout on brakes . Plymouth was back at earlier et . So got a bit tricked and made wrong call , Dave in other lane was a little tighter on breakout .
So not great result .
Running footbrake means my lights move around may try Tbrake again to see if it helps if i can get on track before the Winternationals in June .
Again this should be streamed on YT then 7Plus

Correct, the 45 micron filter is before the pump. The pump itself doesn't have a filter. I don't know if this is how Jimmy had the fuel system set up years ago when he was setting records with the car. I know the guy my brother got it from rewired the car, and it's very possible he changed up the fuel plumbing as well. Can't ask him though, as he passed away a couple years ago. Email has been sent to MagnaFuel. I'm giving serious consideration to moving the 45 micron filter after the pump and doing a larger pre filter now, as you mentioned. 1st order of business is replacing the filter that's looking bad though. Looking online, it appears it wont ship in time for me to race next weekend. Gonna make a couple calls tomorrow morning to see what's available and how soon it will get here.

BTW,,,, The ribs were GREAT!!!!!!! Cool

BTR, when you buy the filter/pump MagnaFuel has a 150-micron pre-filter & they show a -12 AN line feeding the pump. You might look at changing a few things, but of course check with them first.

It sure would be neat to come over/down there to race, but that's not going to happen. Not sure I could handle the flight anyway; I did a flight to S. Korea 2 times there/back & it sucked!

I watched most of your races on YT, but not the 7Plus. Post up your next races if they're streamed.

Bking ,
you'd love to run the Nitros or especially the winters .
Its not too far , I've been to the states half a dozen times .
If you saw Q3 you would have seen the track was real skatey for me , there was a crash and delay before my class .
Next event is Winters , 4/5/6/7 June .
We are at 68 cars in my class so far . We are always out first so can be frost on the cars . Hard to warm up .

Have a new 60 micron element on its way, so I might be able to make the race Saturday. Going to wait to make any other changes until after I hear back from MagnaFuel. Saturday will be 1/8 mile, so I'm optimistic I'll be ok. New shift light coming also. Can't see the little pen light size shift light on the tach. Need it in my line of sight, and the larger diameter should help.
