Thanks M & M! The pics show some of how the car reacts. We normally race with 5 1/4"s front-end travel, with this set-up we had 2.5"s of front travel. The rear if I remember right, we have about 5"s total travel/separation. We have to guesstimate on the rear separation, don't have shock travel sensors & don't want them. Anyway, that's the tightest we have run the separation for this race. We usually have about 1" more separation. Also, our baseline weight bias on the car is 50/50 at 3100 lbs. race ready. We can also put the weight bias at 49/51 with 50 lbs. of ballast under the rear bumper. I did a quick look over of the data logs & everything looked pretty good. Except I found some minor RPM spikes slightly after the converter flash. Pretty sure I was on the edge of spinning the tire in that area. Here's the 1st round time slip to go with the pics above. It was my quickest reaction time of all runs at this race on a .400 pro tree. I was trying some things differently & to get more of a wheelie; it slowed the cars reactions. While not great, the car driving out of the beams with little to no wheelie; I can get better .020-.030 lights, but still not where I want it. 1980 Camaro Taking the Best Working Small Tire Shyt Box & making it Greater Than Before! 3100 lbs. I ran a 5.80 race a few weeks ago along with out regular points race. Man it was cut throat. The guy that won it was no worse than .019 on the tree in eliminations. I had never run 5.80 index before we usually have 6.0 index races so I was searching a little for the index ET through the day adjusting my shift point on time. I shift on rpm when off the foot. Weather was rough too, mid 90s with 60% humidity, 140+ water grains and 4200+ DA. I was 5.768 and 5.777 in time trials. Pedaled to a 5.824 first round then a 5.78 double break out. Got behind on the tree in the third round .024 to .047 and was 5.786 needing to back into him but did a bad driving job. Only had .003 room to turn on the light in that one anyway. I really enjoy index racing and wish they had more of them at my track. This day was a Wally race for all classes, plus a cool ring. It's funny but my car is quicker to 60' off the foot leaving at 2600 than off the button leaving at 4000. I was 1.231-1.235 off the foot and 1.237-1.244 of the button. | |||
