Starter should never have interfered once the drivers were lighting lamps. Not his job to check your dial in.
However, it is NICE when a starter sees it and stops everyone while a correction is made.

DO NOT light a lamp then try to get the starter's attention. Dumb.

If you exit your vehicle after entering the burnout area, you're eliminated.

I've had SEVERAL people suggest I enter a race at Bradenton in the street class, in disguise, and mow every cone to the turnoff.

Then drive out the gate waving, shooting video.

Opponent whomped in shutdown . Cone killer is justified . Lots of money on the line also justifies it. Plus any other stupid reason anyone can think of justifies it.

I don't condone what the driver did and would not do that myself.
If I was the starter,GM,Owner,the guy in the burn out box,... I would blow my lid!!

BUT

That was F'n Epic for a guy sitting on the couch at home watching online!

Was there any punishment? Or is it looked at by some as a good thing to increase viewing, possibly get spectators to big league bracket racing.

I was at a race somewhere years ago where I don't know what happened to prevoke the guy but he had his crew park at the end of the track, he mowed down the tree and all the cones loaded and was gone before the dust settled. The race was over!

No he does not have a legit complaint! He pre-staged with wrong dial. He owns it at that point and there were 3 bulbs lit when he backed out. I feel for the guy but it's his own fault and driving over the cones is some Mickey Mouse Bullshyt.

I had this conversation with a buddy years ago and told him once you prestige you accept and he said I was wrong then not too long after that he went through the same thing that happened there. That driver was in the wrong and I never light a bulb if either dialins are wrong.
