I guess it went back to original owners? Are they back to NHRA again?

Koretsky's took it back. No word on the sanctioning body but i heard all IHRA signage has been removed.

I read they were attempting to get the NHRA back for The Dutch, but couldn't.

Is there even ANY IHRA track still running under IHRA?

Darryl said today the goal is to have it all sold off and shut down by end of the year.

Things are worse now than before he helped out.

Also, FWIW I think the Rockingham track to be auctioned is the oval track, not the drag strip.

You are right Sly. The drag strip is doing fine and just had a sold out NHRA event
I think that since this sale is all open to anyone many of these tracks are done.

I think people are looking at this the wrong way. Now all the people who talk about how things should be done can buy their own track and prove it.

Another way of looking at it is people aren't real smart about believing things like how much money or smarts one man has.

I know nothing about Mr. Cuttell or how he made his money, but if part of the business model all along has been making risky bets by spending money not yet in hand - well - it was bound to blow up in his face sooner or later. Sadly, for racers, it blew up in 2026.

Also for the record, Atlanta Dragway is (was) my home track, and I never believed it was coming back. As soon as all the news began dropping about all the hirings and abrupt firings in his new racing ventures, it was easy to see where this was headed.

I think owning a track is a rather risky investment in first place and I knew they way Darryl Cuttel was running it was doomed for failure. I had hoped I would be wrong but it was not so.

I just see guys on Facebook all the time telling track owners how they should be doing things. Those guys can put their money where their mouth is now. Put some skin in the game.

What percent of folks who participate in bracket racing have the resources to actually purchase a dragstrip?

I know that percent is actually increasing, but maybe that is an issue also. Why is somebody who could genuinely afford to buy a dragstrip be participating in a form of motorsport that was made exactly/specifically for the purpose of being affordable?! Take care. Tom Worthington

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

I am always nice and supportive of track owners. I just do not think most are making much money and have to work their tail off in the heat. With land and building the track, payroll, insurance etc that has to be hard way to make a living with low return on investment. Racers complaining all the time does not help. That is why there were red flags every where when Darryl started all this mess. Owning and running a track is rather risky business so why did he spend money he did not have on something that risky?
Now it appears that he was robbing Peter to pay Paul by taking money from one business to chase some wild dream in the sky and lose everything. Looks like he has already lost IHRA and may lose his main business? His house? His life savings?

Kind of like my race cars or airplanes. I pay cash for everything and I do not spend more than I can afford to throw away if there is a crash or fire or some other problem. Would never borrow money and put all my eggs in one basket. I would not jeopardize my House, family and career to buy a race car that could easily get stolen or what ever. If I was ever going to buy a track it would be with loose cash that I could afford to lose and would not put any money at all into it that I did not could not afford to risk losing.

Would any sane person put their house, career, life savings and everything up, borrow millions of dollars they do not have then go to Las Vegas to GAMBLE? Just made no sense from the start and those who said he had more money than God and was going to save IHRA out of the goodness of his heart. How did that work out?

At best it is hard to get a track to make money and he "Bought" tracks some that had been shut down and may never get a the permits to get open again. And now what will happen to the boat racing, Tractor pulling, stock car, line dancing and all other stuff he supposedly bought to put under IHRA?

There were other red flags to, he hired Kenny Knowling who was known for races that never paid out winnings. (It was never his fault but every where he went it was a problem) and he hired and fired dozens of people to run it but never let them run anything.
