Horrible fires in L.A. and surrounding communities. Hard to breathe from the smoke and I'm 5 miles away. 60 to 80 MPH winds.

When everything is coming your way, your probably in the wrong lane.

Our idiot L.A. Mayor cut $18 million from the fire department so cut backs on personal. It's horrible here and Pacific Palisades is wiped out with no water. They estimate the most expensive fire in U.S. history at $57 Billion. And it's still burning including Hollywood Hills, Pasadena, Altadena..etc.breathing and eye irritation is difficult.

Democratic Leadership, State and City at it's core, pathetic! Billions of dollars, (Tax money), established to upgrade the Los Angeles Fire Fighting Infrastructure being redirected to higher (?) priorities. They appear to believe that burning of a major US City to the ground should take a back seat to insuring Illegal immigrants and homeless folks have a higher priority.

Water reserves sacrificed to the point where there wasn't sufficient water and water pressure to defend populated communities. Firefighters unable to defend communities because an Elected Official failed to protect their community.

There is malfeasance and then there is criminal neglect. A landlord will go to jail for not having sprinkler systems in a rental property. It appears that State and City Officials are exempt from the same Rule Of Law. They can redirect fire suppression funding for major populated communities and simply call it "Unfortunate", or as they often do, completely ignore the question of neglect.

No wonder that so many residents want to leave this State.

Someone needs to go to prison.

Be interesting to see what they say the cause of the fires is. And yeah cutting the budget is one thing but not having water is another issue entirely. I still wonder who SoCal does not invest in desalinization. If Africa and the middle east can do it why not the worlds 5th largest economy...

I feel for all of the families who have lost everything. I also blame the Democratic Government there that caused it and refused to do anything to prevent it or put it out.

I am not talking about the hard working firefighters there, I am talking about the people who cut funding for fire departments and refused to pay for preventative measures then want to beg for help now.

Many of those houses did not have fire insurance because of insurance companies pulling out due to high cost of rebuilding there.

No win situation and some of it could have been avoided.

They diverted water from a river to the ocean instead of reservoirs so the city did not have enough water to put out any fires.

Bad management and Trump told them several years ago. The mayor of Los Angeles cut the budget for Fire and Police departments.

If they could have stopped some of those fires then it may not have went house to house to wipe out complete neighborhoods. Yes, there were fires but it may have been able to be somewhat controlled and not nearly as much damage.

I'm with you Al, 100%

As of now the estimated loss is $57,000,000,000, and still counting.

Here is the oddity, Californians will still re-elect these bozos.

And for those of you not living in the "Sun Shine State", you get to vote for our Governor in the 2028 Presidential Election.

After all, he has a nice hair cut and looks Presidential!

Has anyone calculated how many EV's will have to be sold to offset $57B in smoke and ash?

Latest economic impact estimate is between $130 and $150 billion, and still growing. Thousands of LA homeowners with limited, or no, Insurance coverage. Present day Building codes, material and labor expenses far exceed their coverage. Add to this equation the average age of a present day Los Angeles Home Owner and you understand his problem, he never recovers.

LA population density has increased with more and very expensive homes. Great for Developers, not so great for residents. Add to this the substantial increase in "Environmentally friendly" electric vehicles that contain fire prone lithium batteries. The recipe for another 1871 Chicago type fire increases by the day, what, in 154 years we didn't learn any lessons?

Starting years ago, (I believe 11) LA County passed several several million dollar Bond Measures to establish reservoirs to provide water for Firefighters. Question : How often is the water pressure tested at each and every hydrant. That bright shiny Fire Truck is worthless if it arrives at a fire and there's no water. What it does accomplish is adding to the traffic congestion while opposing cars fleeing the area. The LA Mayor and The County Board of Supervisors failed in protecting their Citizens. Probably too busy re-directing funding to more important issues, like (Insert your ideas here).

Bob (Rant Over).

State Farm canceled 72,000 fire policies in California in the last year. State Farm left as dozens of other insurance companies. Because our incompetent governor did not want to spend "Taxpayers" money on Brush Abatement. Rather spend it on homeless crap. But the Liberals will still vote for Mayor Bass and other democrats with "NO COMMON SENSE".

Dam Drone hits a Ca Fire plane!
Looting, Drones, what’s next! Possible an Insurance Company drone?
The cleanup will be massive .
Our families who lost everything here n the LNU Fire had to go 6” below grade after everything was removed and filled with clean fill plus their well replace along with septic. I won’t get started on FEMA.

I will tell you , watching how the insurance companies dealt with them in my living room had us adjust our plan accordingly. Was surprised how much was not covered as originally thought.
