When I met Don Garlits he was nice as can be. I think he is very nice and a Legend in our sport.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

Who gives a flying fok what Tony Stewart does? Besides ol' cacklin hens!

Garlits doesn't charge for an autograph BTW.

How is it a grown man can't figure out the autograph fee is of the promoter who booked and pays Garlits a flat rate for the appearance, not matter if 2, 10 or 10,000 people show up for the event.

Is this not common sense?

agreed they both have their reasons for being with each other. That said, she looks rough and sounds rough and yes, I've seen her up close as in standing right next to her at Indy.

Well than I guess Van Halen didn't charge to get into their shows either. The ticket companies did. Laughing Hard

Going to be interesting to see how this plays out. My guess is he makes some test passes, maybe participates in some events on a limited basis, then splits with Leah and is done with drag racing.

Either way, I can’t see it being bad for the sport. Tony can drive the wheels off anything he’s driven so far.

Kurt Busch brought in some pretty good coverage for NHRA and Pro Stock when he tried it and that was just one race IIRC. He wasn't too well liked either.

Being well liked doesn't stop many people from doing things others think they shouldn't.

Some on this board aren't well liked, and they keep racing and posting. Being well liked isn't all that important to me the older I get.

I agree Bucky!!
My guess she is looking to maybe have her own TF Team and not many guys better at marketing and knowledge of what it takes to keep teams running and his knowledge on the track owner side could be very important as well if more tracks give up on NHRA or NHRA fizzels away.

Let me assure you that Tony is involved in more sponsorship grooming than you can imagine. He works behind the scenes with the little guys, with a very large, well funded group.

This TF deal with Tony won't last long if it evens gets off the ground. With the escalating costs it takes to run one of those cars and the dwindling payouts old smoke is going to think why do this when I can run at about any short track in the country for more $$$ any weekend.

I do not know or care. I do not mean to sound bad but he is being blasted by a bunch of people who do not have the means, money or nerve to do it. If he can do this at his age he can compete at top level for several years.

I am not a fan of his or even NASCARP at all but we need more Top Fuel Teams and personalities love them or Hate them.

I am not a big fan of Leah Pritchett / Pruett what ever but if I had the chance for that ride.......

Roger knows.

Check out the SRX racing series that Tony and Ray Evernham are putting together for 2021. Right now that appears to be his main focus...well other than Leah.
