Those of us that plan on getting the vaccination won't have to worry about getting Covid again. But those who don't will forever be paranoid about wondering if he or she whom they are around has it or not. I don't want to live my life like that.

Having the states be in charge of dispensing the vaccines isn't working out as good as it should. Why with as much urgency as this should have it's like a 9-3 deal. I can get a payday loan 24-7 but we can't figure out how to dispense vaccines. Don't understand the protocols some of these states have come up with for what order they are vaccinating people.
As far as not worrying about ever getting it once vaccinated I've not seen that proven. I don't think anyone knows how long it will last. I don't think they know if you can still carry it once you've been vaccinated. Also have to wonder exactly when resistance starts.

I talked to my doctor regarding when the antibodies kick in. He said as with other flues it takes 2 to 2 1/2 months. Since I'm not a gambler (anymore) I'm not taking a chance and will get the vaccine. Might be like chicken soup for a cold. Well, It can't hurt!

Surprise, surprise you ARE living you life like that. The first step to recovery is recognizing you have a problem. So look up paranoia. Living in fear of the unknown (the bogeyman) leaves you very susceptible to manipulation. “Only Thing We Have to Fear Is Fear Itself”

No other family members had any symptoms at all. We are mid 50s. The kids are all in their 30s.

Flu shot does that to me, usually 2 days.

All the dems complained about the Federal Government handling the vaccine distribution and Trump gives in and let the states handle it. Well how did that work out? Wouldn't you think that people over 65 would at least be in 1B. Nope. Ridiculous!

It would be interesting to see who and how many politicians own stock in the vaccine companies.

Why?? The people from 18-65 are the ones working and keeping things going. They're the ones that can't avoid going to work and being in contact. They're also the ones most likely to not take precautions and spread the virus.
Who is going to benefit from 65+ getting the vaccine? Hardees? Shoneys?

Because the folks most likely to have greater harm from or die from Corona are the oldest among us. Isn't that what we really want to reduce is deaths?

Ding...ding...ding...we have a winnah!!!...

The younger folks have a 99.9% chance of recovering just fine and on their own if they get the virus...old folks not so much...old folks with underlying conditions are even worse off...

So the question is do we want to roll the dice and possibly kill grandma and grandpa or do we want to protect the burger flipper at Joe's grease stop instead...

Problem 1) the young person can carry around the virus without showing signs and symptoms and give it to the gramma/grandpa

Problem 2) a virus when given a host (human) can mutate at a very fast rate. This means that grandma and grandpa can get the vaccine and a year later get the virus even though they have been vaccinated because the virus has mutated given the host of millions of younger people.

So the real answer to me is for everyone to get it, as much as possible. Open it to everyone, cut back to those more in need if demand exceeds quantity

The question was about prioritization. Would you not agree that the first who need the protection that they say the vaccine provides, is the elderly?

My opinion is to open it up to everyone and then if demand being exceeding supply to go back to phases. And yes, phase 1 being primarily elderly

As crazy as it sounds and it’s not being talked about, if prioritizing I would actually prioritize African Americans as highest risk. I work at a level 1 trauma center hospital and covid hub. Helicopters being in covid patients all day and night to us. If you are African American then you are much more likely to die from
Covid

Obesity, High blood pressure, asthma, and diabetes are also huge deals.

So it’s hard to say just over 65 when so many people have problems contributing to their limited chance at survival. Cancer patients for example

So again, my opinion is to open to everyone as long as demand doesn’t exceed supply

Teachers have been getting the Vaccine. So why can't the schools open. In California ONE child under 18 years old has died of Covid. So children under 18 are immune and now the teachers are. Dumbing down the kids in California is wrong. Open the schools!
