I agree with that 60K-75K is not hard to see but the whole topic of this thread 125-140K!

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

60-75K rolling. Let’s call it 65K

65K rolling
45K-50K engine (aluminum block Oakley blower motor)
10K for trans, converter and headers
5K misc plumbing and such as starter, water pump, etc.

That’s 125-130K

This^^^ and that’s the low side of a top shelf roller.

The issue here is most replying here are clueless to what a top shelf turnkey dragster costs from every major builder.

Mostly because they don’t realize how much more expensive the parts have gotten in the last year and a half

Everyone is missing that Phil Oakley's 2021 house car is for sale right now.

1 year older, same engine builder with a way faster engine, but 95k for his (oh yeah its painted) while the new mullis painted is 140k (45k more)

That new Mullis can be turned up to go fast, but its not going to go 3.60's. Not to mention any driver is going to step right into Phil's car and immediately have the chassis setup to go fast. No wrench turning required.

Doesn’t matter what Phil is asking for his used car. You started this thread questioning the legitimacy of the price of this new top of the line car and it’s price is spot on no mind it’s available NOW!

Gotta agree with Ed here. I’m not saying there aren’t better deals out there, I’m just saying these cars have gone way up in price in a years time to build. More people will realize how much more expensive new builds are and how long wait lists on new builds are and you will see an increase in price of used cars to follow

I still don't see how that price can be rationalized Ed.

What's the difference between the 140k car with 6 runs on it and Oakley's 50 run 95k car?

Other than the obvious answer of a whopping 44 runs LOL!

A quick scan of that list and there's 10's of thousands left to go, incorrect pricing if you're trying compare to a high end build etc. I mean right off, you're not buying a top level 3rd member for $1900, or axles for $550. M/w 3rd member with good stuff is $2700 and ultimate axles are $1200. That's just a quick scan. No, you don't HAVE to have that stuff, but you can't compare prices and then use far lesser products to prove the point

I get strange, Weld, and XRP products at cost.

My post was simply just to show what the price is to get a racetech now. I was not comparing it to the top dragster, just giving people reference. That being said, yes, I am doing the majority of the work myself because I can and don't feel like paying someone to do it for me.

then you can't compare yours to a top shelf turnkey car.

The backlog on custom stackers from major builders is 1-2 years. And expensive.

For the difference in price, I am interested in where the big competitive advantage for brand new pipe comes from. Have the dragster designs changed that greatly in the last say, 10 years? Is engine, delay box or electronic technology quickly improving?

Right now he's got nothing but a quote for a stage 1 car which is a very long way from a race ready, turnkey car no mind no comparison to the car being discussed in this thread.

what does an old beat up alcohol car have to do with this brand new, top shelf, turnkey, top dragster? Answer...NOTHING. Your reply is just a feeble attempt to showcase a car you are trying to sell.
