Well I think it has drifted off subject to another issue.
As for staging, the tracks that run a really quick program have cars in the burnout box while the cars in front are staging. As soon as they take off they are given signal to do their burnouts and as soon as both cars are off the track you are told to stage.

That brings up second problem, if you have people who like to play games and take 5 minutes to stage then the Starter should give them signal to move in and if they do not right then boot them and they are out. Do not let someone with an Ego or Attitude slow down the race.

You boot a few people for refusing to stage when told to they will start staging or suffer the consequences. But they do not need to be holding up the race with their silly little games. Some track starters need to grow a set and get cars down the track.

You want to race? Line up and go. You want to sit there and play mind games with opponent take up Chess.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

100% agree, Bracket races should and do move much quicker than they did at BMP last week. They really need to work on getting people up to the starting line and down the track more quickly.

Not everyone can be a Kenny or Cory pre-staging. How does one speed up a Matt or a Dink?

A clock.

Also, as far as all the bashing goes, I think people are being a bit too protective of promoters. I've never promoted a race, I don't sign the checks, and I don't pretend to know what it takes to do so. That being said, these races cannot be void of criticism. If they are imperfect or run poorly, they should be criticized. At the end of the day, though I know people don't do it in the most tactful way, we all want bracket racing to be great and these types of marquee events to be an epic spectacle of racing and competition so concerns and critiques should be voiced to make them better. To me, it's ludicrous to protect an incompetent promoter or poorly run facility just for the sake of protecting them. If you get screwed out of money or find a race you attend is a waste of time, that should be publicly noted so that others can be aware and promoters/tracks can improve their program. I want to protect tracks, but if it sucks, it sucks. Make it better. Not saying that was the complete case here, but it seems that objectively SFG dropped the ball in a few ways last week.

This couldn't have been said better.

I have promoted races, and race promoting IS A BUSINESS, PERIOD. This message board and now Facebook is a tool of the current times for people to voice their opinions. Like it or not it's now part of the world. You don't want to be bashed, run your business properly. You agreed to be a business and take responsibility when you take someone's money!

I'm also a racer / customer who expects something for my money. Specially what is advertised and spoken of. Was I there, no. Do I like that my buddies got a raw deal? no. Did I voice my opinion? no. BUT, SFG has brought the criticism on itself with their track record, period. I'll leave it at that.

I'd say this promoter has enough history that racers shouldn't be surprised with the decisions, outcomes or really anything.

SL...

For starters I was there and racing. For the record over selling goes on with ALL promoters. Start counting and maybe it will open your eyes. It did not bother me. We had 30 to
40 mph wind with sand blowing everywhere. Number two the track had a curfew of 11pm. There was a small group of racers that complained about the traction and all I can say the track was spot on. These racers need to go to a test and tune and fix their cars suspension or tires or whatever. Every big race I go to racers are whining there is a timing system problem when in fact it is them. I hear the traction whining story. Go fix your **** and stop blaming everyone for your incompetence. At these big races regardless of who is putting them on and trust me it will happen again if the stars align like weather oil downs dew cold Temps curfew. Yes things could have run better. Racers are also to blame with brain dead prestaging. I am for a shot clock. But as I said this will happen in the future again as it did two weeks later at the New Years Nationals where we only ran round one in one full day. It happens and again it doesn't bother me because I expected to happen. One cure single entry will cut the field back and make it more time managble but you would have to raise the entry to make money. Alot of Monday morning quarterbacks. I will say who ever announced at the New Years race was annoying but highly effective in moving a race at a faster pace. Rant over. If you were not there then don't criticize.
