Rich Schaefer named new President at IHRA. I've heard his name before, but I'd be lying if I said I knew who he was.

He was the NHRA division 2 director.

We at IHRA are thrilled to announce a significant leadership transition aimed at fostering growth and innovation within our sport. Alex Roach has been appointed as our new CEO, alongside Rich Schaefer, who will serve as our new President. This dynamic duo is committed to expanding the drag racing community, focusing on engaging the younger generation. Under the stewardship of Cuttell Motorsports, the ownership group of IHRA, we are proud to have board members from diverse sectors, including AI, Automotive, Private Equity, and Logistics Industries, ensuring a robust and forward-thinking approach to our beloved sport's future. The last and final update next week will conclude the weekly updates related to IHRA’s transition. The final organizational structure, sponsorship information, and racing structure should be in place. As with anything, this is ever-evolving, but EXCITING TIMES AHEAD!
A profile of the ownership group, board members and senior leadership team will follow in future posts.

Rich is an awesome guy and 100% for the racer. This is a very positive move for ihra. Just when i thought it was a sh1t show i now think there may be a 37% chance something might come of this. Still dont see how they can do it with out wdra.

Glad to see IHRA is bringing back Division and National events. Always enjoyed the ProAm and NittoJam races. Hope they are racer friendly as they had been prior to the Suits that bought them and destroyed them as well as a number of first class tracks.

I actually watched the most recent episode of "Going Bracket Racing" youtube show/podcast and Casey (one of the hosts) had some very inciteful takes on why IHRA went down the way it did. I encourage all to go listen and subscribe, they do great work over there.

Essentially he talked about the company that bought out IHRA and there means of making money. Basically, they only bought IHRA to sell off it's assets and allow it's holding company to go under. They never cared about drag racing, they were only in it for the property.

pauley- eat my shorts, not everybody is as big of an NHRA blowhard as you. I want IHRA to come back so I have another class racing option. Would love nothing more than to see IHRA supersede NHRA in sportsman racing

What was that huge announcement that Kenny was supposed to do live then had a 20 minute live announcement to say he was going to announce it later?

He sure talks a lot to say nothing important.

Now Kenny has lawyered up and says he going to do a podcast and out everyone who's done him wrong and expose everyone involved.

I can't wait, gonna be a good time. I'll be listening. He's also threatened litigation, but I'm not sure against who or what.

Like I said Drama and Trouble seem to follow Kenny every where he goes. Maybe KENNY is the problem? And what was the HUGE announcement he was hyping up so much? Or was he just being a Drama Queen to get his face out there like he is someone important?

I think it was a huge mistake for IHRA to hire him to run it with his past history. Even if there was not truth to it, he has made a lot of enemies and why hire someone to make something grow that has ran off so many people?

That Kenny is a Legend in his own mind but I am not that impressed with him from what I have seen. Respect is earned and no matter how great you tell us you are, you are still judges on your achievements. Seems like the ones who talk about how great they are have not done much.

...aaaand they've signed Alan Reinhart! How exciting. Looks like he couldn't stay out of the business of drag racing for long.

What was the HUGE announcement Kenny was supposed to make on a live stream and then spent 20 minutes to say it would be announced later?

Must not have been important........

He made that statement before he was fired. So it really doesn't matter what the announcement was.

I heard that Schaefer and Reinhardt attended the Champions banquet at XRP last Saturday evening.
Did anyone on here go there? Wondering if they offered up any news on IHRA for this season?
I am glad that Alan not only is back in Drag Racing, but naming him VP of Racing Operations is definitely a solid move.

They have bounced back and forth with NHRA and IHRA for years.
I think every time they change management.
