Get your head out of the sand. First thing they announced before any of the nitro jam talk was that grass roots bracket racing would not be changed or overlooked. In fact they tripled all bracket finals related purses. Each division's bracket finals now run for $7500 instead of $2500 and world finals now pays $30k instead of $10k. Huge step up for weekend warriors. I spoke with a track operator in the southeast that has been in close communication with Kenny Nowling throughout this process. The track operator's understanding is that once all the dust settles, the two sanctioning bodies will be one again. WDRA will be dissolved and absorbed within IHRA. The guy who bought out IHRA means business and money is NOT a problem. IHRA is mainly back East, nothing for me out here that I know of. I wish only the best for their future, hopefully they get back to their old days but that's a stretch. The only dealing I had with IHRA was too many...many moons ago. It was at Rockingham & was invited there for an exhibition show at a Pro Am race. I think that was what it was called.
