The majority of the folks on this site don't live in California. Consider yourselves the lucky ones. It is getting WAY to expensive to live here. Example; my electric bill last year in July was $211.64, this July it was $497.23. Gas and insurance is also out of control. Lots of California racers can't afford to race anymore in California. Sad very sad!

I live in a HIGHLY democratic state, Connecticut.
My property taxes just went up this month, August, an ADDITIONAL $500 a month, yes, $6000 a year because they need to fund the Non Working, System Sucking, DOONERS --- TO BUY VOTES, they just keep giving out FREE STUFF for the votes.
They pay people WAY too much to stay home and NOT work.
In my state, CT, we have 3.6 million people BUT only 1.5 million work. (you can see the numbers directly from the US Census bureau)
Simple math, how can only 42% of the people pay for 100%. The math doesn't work, they can take 100% of our $$$ and we'll still be upside down.

Those of us fortunate enough to play with race cars are probably doing better than most, but I don't think many of us have $100+ MM in assets which would trigger the proposed unrealized gains tax.

It's also unlikely to pass, as it would add a tremendous amount of administrative burden.
