So the doctor says to the 75 year old ma, Do you eat red meat. No, it's had for me. Do you drink alcohol? No, it's had for me and I want to stay healthy. Do you have regular sex? No, it's bad for my heart. Doctor says, why do you care?

here's all you need to know, we all consume way too much sugar and wheat products. Eliminate them from your diet and you'll be healthy, fit and not over weight. 1500 calories a day is more than enough for the average person's well being.

Most comes from garden as far as veggies. We can everything possible. Meat comes from field between 9-1 and 1-2,deer meat, fish comes from north Carolina streams, hard to beat trout for flavor. Milk(my weakness) someone's cow and I'm sureh not as healthy as straight from cow to house. I do try to limit soda's,wheats and anything with ton of prservatives. Limiting sugar is something I need to work on with family history of diabetes. Now beer is all natural and healthy? Good for washing out all of the bad stuff. America home of free. No salt, very few carbs (wheat products, potatoes, etc.) unless balanced/offset with a protein and absolutely no sugar. Lots of fruit, lots of vegetables, fish, some meat in moderation. No milk, no sodas (crack in a can), no beer, no alcohol, the last two were easy, never did drink. Still weigh the same as I did the day I graduated from High School (176) and have lots of energy, seldom get tired. 120 over 76, PSA is 4.1 at 76 years old. Bob

My dad loved and ate a LOT of sweets and baked goods, he lived to be 96 and was healthy and not overweight his entire life. A lot of it is in the genes.......... 272" Spitzer 540 Chevy The Blower Shop XR1 FTI XPM Series Converter FTI Level 6 Powerglide 3.69@199 .916 60' 2017 Bradenton Heads Up Madness Open Outlaw Champ 2018 PDRA T/D #5 2019 PDRA T/D #2 2020 Retired From T/D Competition.... 2020 Bradenton NMCA Hemi Shootout Winner 2021 getting back into bracket racing with a Gen3 Hemi powered 87 Cutlass.

Just had a check up yesterday and everything was fine and I feel fine but since I don't pay much attention to what I eat or drink they keep hunting for something to go wrong. 76 and counting

What's all this wheat BS? Must be gluten driven? Gluten is just another fad that will fade, global warming anyone? Remember when eggs would kill you via cholesterol, then that was finally disproven. I will darn sure pick sugar over aspartame, and butter over margarine. I'm 70 yo and in excellent health. Just got back from a 20 mile bike ride this morning. Had blood work about a month ago and a page and a half of test results were all within limits save for one and the Dr. said it wasn't important. All things in moderation I say. Yep, some jeans uh genes are bigger than others. I would pass out on 1500 calories a day, but I have a really high metabolism. Fortunate for me. Been 5'11" 165 since forever. My wife and I plan on starting a Yoga workout next week so I can build up some stamina and she can work on her balance. I sit at a desk for 6-7 hours a day at my computer. Counting calories is really a waste. Counting carbs is far better for you and it will keep the weight off. L8R, Mike

Could be, but he passed away just 3 years ago. He always ate a lot of "junk" food, including honey buns, bear claws, apple fritters, etc. He was able to fit comfortably into his WWII uniform every Memorial Day......... 272" Spitzer 540 Chevy The Blower Shop XR1 FTI XPM Series Converter FTI Level 6 Powerglide 3.69@199 .916 60' 2017 Bradenton Heads Up Madness Open Outlaw Champ 2018 PDRA T/D #5 2019 PDRA T/D #2 2020 Retired From T/D Competition.... 2020 Bradenton NMCA Hemi Shootout Winner 2021 getting back into bracket racing with a Gen3 Hemi powered 87 Cutlass.

Being mindful of overall calories has been effective for me. But....you soon realize that excessive carbs destroy your ability to eat foods that will sustain you and for you to stay within your calorie goals. Same with sugars for sure. And yes everyone's calorie goals will be and should be different depending on what their activity level and body makeup is. I often see people count carbs and lose weight. But when you ask what they are eating, it's obvious that knocking out those carbs (and sugars) and replacing with proteins actually reduced the number of calories they consumed. Same diff IMO.
