Again, I provided the link (Sonoma double header LODRS) in the OP of 99.9% of class racer's wearing mask PERIOD! Again, the 2nd link I posted was bracket racers with all the COVID rules required/enforced PERIOD!

Now, not mentioned was the last 2 National Events was wearing the mask & whatever else COVID PERIOD!

I'm not disagreeing with anyone's NHRAs COVID experience at all. It is what it is & I don't like it, the same as most.

It seems site admins will only "take control" if the drama doesn't create hits. The traffic is what gives value to the site. It's all about money in the end, not ethics or principles but maybe the lack of...

It's no longer a racer's forum. It's become a sounding board for a group of individuals who cannot resist the promotion of political division and seem to enjoy it. It's sad! If your opinion differs from an others so be it. Let it go and move on...

Moving on...

When an old sock, underwear or whatever you cover your face with are called virus stoppers then why would we need vaccines....IT'S THE FLU, IT CAN KILL THE WEAK, THE OLD (Like ME!!) and THOSE WITH HEALTH ISSUES.
Live your life how you want, stay inside, hide out, whatever. Do what you can to keep your distance from others, if you feel sick, stay at home. How friggin hard is it. In another month or so we will ALL have been exposed,,,hope we survive as you sure are not stopping it with handkerchiefs hanging below your nose....

The last few weeks at our local track have been awesome. Lots of cars, people not hugging each other but still showing the humanity and friendship the racing community has. No better way to stay healthy that be outside in the sunlight with friends, fresh air and having BIG SMILES on!!

God Bless us all,

Jok

I understand what you are saying. However, it seems like those whos hind ends get the most hurt are the ones that start with the inciteful statements. People go on about how righteous it is to wear a mask, and how you have to in order to race, and I simply stated that in my area in the races I have been to, nobody is masking, nobody has gotten sick, and that wearing a mask outside while social distancing is nothing more than virtue signalling. The the "be part of the problem and not the solution" stuff starts. When science supports your view you are all over it. But none of the masker's want to talk science now. Now it's all about compliance and the greater good. I'll follow the science thank you. If it makes you feel better wearing a mask, wear one. It's a free country. And that's the way I would prefer it stays. ("you" only if it applies. Not directing at the quoted person)

In Illinois, outside Cook county, we have a 0.4% infection rate. We have a 5% rate of mortality for the infected including some tough nursing home numbers influencing that number. 2 out of 10,000 people here have died from this pandemic. I don't think it is a hoax. But the way it is being handled and fear mongered certainly is. When healthy people are not allowed to make their own health decisions, it makes me wonder what is next. Mandatory vaccinations? No political gatherings? Maybe they will go further with health decisions. Maybe you can't eat fried foods or a greasy hamburger in the future. Perhaps you will be required to be a certain weight to be deemed healthy enough to participate in everyday events. Ridiculous? Who would have thought 12 months ago that we would be required to wear masks in public? Who would have thought people would have been forced into unemployment and forced onto the dole to support your family? Who would have thought that private businesses would have been forced to close....no choice, over a bug that thus far has infected less than half a percent of the people outside of chitcago? Why are people against masks? BEcause they are uncomfortable? Sure. But more than that: America was founded upon pushing back against government that pushes its will upon its people. Americans still have some of that spirit thankfully. Thankfully, not all of us want to be told how to live, what to wear, how to act, and think, and feel. What do I want out of my government.....less.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

Thanks Bucky. I agree.
The Left Coast as you know is far left... I do follow the science and I’m smart enough to know these Scientists/Dr’s are still practicing.. I don’t like the masks thing any more than any of you. I follow cases in the hospital and not the astronomical positive cases.. This weekend Div 7 Sonoma did a great job complying with the regulations for gatherings. None of us like it but if you want to race here you have to wear it. I’m at risk as so many others even though I think I’m not.. I’m the first to apologize if I ruffled feathers with my comments.. You well know some like to turn the chip up just for a response. There are a bunch of guys here I respect. Not worthy

The tracks sandbox. Play or stay home. I did a little observation last week. Got gas @ a Speedway. I backed up and waited and looked. Had to be minn 30 people on prepay walking in and out.

Between the male/female entry on prepay. Every female had a mask on. Male, not a one.

Attention Racers attending the Topeka Double.
There is no disputing we are living in a different time. It is our job at NHRA to think about what we need to do today so that we all have a place to race today, tomorrow and in the future. With that responsibility comes changes. Please help me with your patience and understanding as we all make changes and sacrifices in order to retain our right to race in the State of Kansas. Please remember to bring your face coverings, they will be required to be worn at this event. Keep in mind we are guests to the State of Kansas and we would like to set a good example and do everything necessary to be welcomed back next month for the NHRA Mello Yello Series event.
Things to keep in mind include but are not limited to:
• If you are sick please stay home.
• Stop the Spread- Be courteous to fellow racers and crew by maintain social distancing.
• Stop the Spread - Wear a face covering at all times, especially if you are going to be anywhere near other people.
• Stop the Spread - Wash your hands often.
• Race Control will be closed at all events. For this event if you need to speak to a race official please email me at rpark@nhra.com or text to cell 816-522-9153
Thank you for your patience and support.

I was at the Columbus D3 divisional and Sports Nationals. Well run event and it sure was great seeing folks again. Well over 600 cars and got each race completed in two days until the rains came last night. Finished this morning with only a few rounds in each class.

I am not going to let it worry me because the state guidelines executive order for outside events is to have a mask on if you can not maintain the 6 feet distance with people outside your party. Every racer at the track in in my party lol

Kind of funny they waited and posted this today on the last day of registration after they have your money.

Looks like another setting the example coming to light, I'm sure there are more. We all don't like these new COVID rules. Out on the Left Coast we have to follow them to race. Now it appears to be happening in the Mid-West. We don't like it, but we are doing our part to continue with the new BS & keep our sport alive. I'm glad some racers/races have not been affected by the BS COVID rules.

Again x2...no one is checking racers temperatures, no racers are wearing masks and racers are not social distancing ANYWHERE so stop the bullshyt how we are setting the example.

99.9% of bracket and class racers ain’t ever wearing a mask at the track PERIOD! The track owners and the nhra knows it!!

Tell me again....what didn't happen!

Again this past weekend, Summit bracket racers. All racers temp taken at the gate, racers wearing masks & racers social distancing EVERYWHERE! So, stop your keyboard dribble.

There have been other links & examples provided in this thread backing it up. I don't care if you like it or not, I don't. It's what we & others have to do to race.

In Iowa we are racing as usual. No masks, no temperatures. I think everyone is aware and you see less handshakes with old racing friends and a little more distance between us Old Guys but in general, THANK GOD we have racing.
The rest of the Country is eating itself up!!

Please vote in the Presidential election and I hope you vote for Trump. I cannot imagine this country if the Dems get the White House, Senate and House of Reps.
