Firebird Raceway here in Boise uses the NHRA tree with the blue stage light circles and has for a couple of years now. I do not like the new version at all. | |||

Unless you block at night. I don't though and don't race national events.

Bristol always had another tree set up facing the grandstands so the fans could see both sides of the tree. I guess they had to spend all of that money somewhere. | |||

Bingo! Betting they want the fans to see the lights easier. Pretty simple.. If it was a transmitted signal for the tree I’d say yeah, tree reader but it is not. I’m sure there is an LED reader/ photo cell. It would be tough to disguise. And then there’s the “we arent racing for the million”.... Raceless in California! | |||

The older I get, the more I think those small track operators who didn't upgrade were smart. No LEDs. No Crosstalk. No TruStart. Nothing that costs money...and doesn't add profit. Take care.
