I just received my 4 to 1 cord adapter from Motion Raceworks. It has the deutsch pins in the kit but need to come up with the crimper. I thought I had one located but it ended up being another style of tool. Is this type of connector good for basic automotive wiring since it looks like I need to purchase one for this project. Thanks

I just went through this for a new wiring project for myself. I looked at the Deutsch connectors as an upgrade over Weatherpack. I opted to buy the HDT 48-00 crimper. There are several alternatives on Amazon.

The type of crimper you get is going to depend on the type of terminals/pins you have/get. wing terminals you can use the popular blue handled $30 crimper from summit/jegs/amazon that also works for weatherpack/metripack connectors. If you have barrel pins, which is what I recommend, JRReady makes a nice crimper that is only $160-170 on amazon and is affordable compared to the industrially rated $3-400+ crimpers. ------------------------------------------ "Any man can make mistakes, but only an idiot persist in his or her error."
