Little ChiefDeutsch crimper tool
I just received my 4 to 1 cord adapter from Motion Raceworks. It has the deutsch pins in the kit but need to come up with the crimper. I thought I had one located but it ended up being another style of tool. Is this type of connector good for basic automotive wiring since it looks like I need to purchase one for this project. Thanks

Rodney PryorI just went through this for a new wiring project for myself. I looked at the Deutsch connectors as an upgrade over Weatherpack.
I opted to buy the HDT 48-00 crimper. There are several alternatives on Amazon.

1.Slow_fivE.0The type of crimper you get is going to depend on the type of terminals/pins you have/get. wing terminals you can use the popular blue handled $30 crimper from summit/jegs/amazon that also works for weatherpack/metripack connectors.
If you have barrel pins, which is what I recommend, JRReady makes a nice crimper that is only $160-170 on amazon and is affordable compared to the industrially rated $3-400+ crimpers.

CashflowI ended up with two crimpers. One for the bigger barrel pins and one for the smaller ones. If you use the smaller connectors then the crimper is much more affordable. Good luck, they do seem more durable than the weatherpacks.

Little ChiefTried to order the JB crimper and the I crimp tool apparently both are from China. My bank doesn't allow transactions with China based companies. Can a less expensive deutsch crimper be purchased in the USA?

Little ChiefI have 12 20ga crimps to make and spending 3 to 4 hundred dollars is just more than I can justify.

CURTIS REEDHere is a used one on Ebay that does 20ga for $30

CashflowI have the I-crimp tool. It’s 32 bucks on Amazon. Does your bank not allow Amazon purchases?

Little ChiefYes I did this week. Bought it from Summit for the simple reason of price. Tool worked surprisingly good. The mono cord is done and the under dash work is all that's left.
Haven't been to the track since last October. I am ready to compete. LC

CashflowYou have my deepest sympathies. Doing the under dash work on this Demon nearly killed me. Not even joking, if my back doesn’t get better I might have to quit racing.
