It seems hypocritical to me. Dem. politicians are against vouchers but they send their own children to private schools. They seem to feel public school are just great for everybody else's kids. If Obama see private schools as superior, he should support vouchers, particulary in failing schools.

What difference does it make if you get a "spread the wealth check" (paid for by taxes) or a tax credit? If you start handing out vouchers for private education, that's LESS money that will go towards public education. Isn't our education system screwed up enough as it is?

Jeremy, the vouchers don't have to be just for private education, it could also go to a better public school.

They did that here but I don't know if they still do. If a child was in a failing public school a parent could put them in a better public school if they wanted to.
