And the Answer is!

Bucky why not read the above link and discover the answer for yourself, it wouldn't do for me to just hand you the answer now would it. Don't skip to the end or you will miss a lot of good stuff. It's only 6 pages, well say 5, as one page is just the citations.

Senators warn new EPA rules would raise gas prices

Senators from both sides of the aisle are warning that looming EPA regulations on gasoline could impose billions of dollars in additional costs on the industry and end up adding up to 25 cents to every gallon of gas.

The senators, in a letter this week to EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, urged the agency to back off the yet-to-be-released regulations. Though the EPA has not yet issued any proposal, they claimed the agency is planning to call for a new requirement to reduce the sulfur content in gasoline.

Citing the nearly $3.40-a-gallon average price of gas and the state of the economy, the senators said "now is not the time for new regulations

"They're extraordinarily expensive relative to the last round of sulfur reductions,

"The lawmakers on the letter were: Sens. James Inhofe, R-Okla.; Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska; John Barrasso, R-Wyo.; Mary Landrieu, D-La.; David Vitter, R-La.; and Mark Begich, D-Alaska."

Fancy that, all oil/energy producing states, who would have guessed. No axes to grind or beds to feather, in that bunch, hmm?

While I would not be overly affected by an increase of $0.25 a gallon added cost for my fuel (the maximum, could be as little as $0.12) I am sensitive to the fact that there are others who would be. Yet, there are a good number of people on this site, that espouse conservative concepts, that seem to suggest that we should not be plaguing our children, grandchildren and generations hence, with undo burdens by bowering against their futures. In effect are we not doing just that by not doing the things we know are nessecery now, by protecting the environment now, instead of burdening our progeny with much more egregious costs in the future?

This does not seem "extraordinarily expensive" to me. Could it be that this refers to the producers cost(s) that can't be quickly and fully passed on to the consumers by the energy produces? Which might adversely affect the corporate compensation packages, of a select few? One might further wonder just who the unnamed "republican aide" is that is making these statements and what his qualifications and expertise's are to be making these statements, not that anyone in such a position would ever make misleading, inflamitory or outright false statements.

Further given that Inhofe has time and again proven to be an idiot du jour, regarding most things, much less complicated issues and concepts such as the environment. I find it hard to credit him with the ability to do anything requiring rational thinking, much less doing what is best for the country or his constituents, other than for those who have the money to have his ear. Seems he, may be, being lead around by his unmentionables by his aide's, you think? One has to wonder who is actually speaking, Inhofe or his keepers.

Finally, we apparently don't even have the EPA final proposal for what might happen, but sure enough already the usual suspects are screeching like a bunch of long tailed cats with their collective tails caught under a rocking chair runner. So maybe it might be appropriate to see what the EPA actually suggests, before throwing the baby out with the bath water.

I cannot believe I wasted my time reading that. I never argued that the data was incorrect. But WHAT IS THE CAUSE is what I was asking. That first hump precluded any major human intervention. It's quite possible that we humans showed up at an unfortunate time when the earth is going through a warm up. Scientists are great at showing that there is a warming trend, and that our oceans are rising. But the connection between those things and man are really shaky.

The people duped by the man-made global warming hoaxers don't have time to fret about the people in Nome running out of fuel. They are too concerned about the massive amounts of ice being built up on the polar ice cap with the frigid temperatures!
There goes another one of their events to point at, you see!

That first hump is likely do to land use changes, specifically deforestation, (i.e. human causes) in Europe, thus a man made cause of the Medieval Warm Period, prior to our current man made warming trend. Forests reject roughly 15% to 25% more energy than grasslands per unit area depending on the time of year.

http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/science/pastcc.html
http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com...49710243416/abstract

Then the Little Ice Age (the little dip) likely do to increased albedo as a result of increased volcanic activity during that period, increasing particulate matter and sulfur compound (SO2) in the atmosphere rejecting more solar energy back into space, as well as further positive feedback because of the longer lasting and greater snow and ice coverage again rejecting more heat back into space. There has also been conjecture that the north Atlantic conveyor system (Gulf Stream bringing heat to Europe) may have decreased or shut down or been rerouted do to an extended anomalous negative phase in the Arctic Oscillation pattern. The eruption of Tambora alone, likely caused about a 5 degree decrease in global temps in 1815-1816. In New England this period was called the "The year without a summer". Think how much warmer the earth might be now, if not for this one eruption.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arctic_oscillation
http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/science/pastcc.html
http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/science/pastcc.html

Is that specific enough?

Those are the causes. Man in the first, volcanos in the second, and man in the third. That is pretty solid science, if you expect absolutes written in stone you need a preacher, guru or political pundit for that, I am sure there are lots that will tell you exactly what to think on any given subject you care to name, with little or no time and intellectual effort on your part.
