Feb. 22 (Bloomberg) -- Alabama Republicans Jo Bonner and Robert Aderholt took to the U.S. House floor in July, denouncing the Obama administration’s stimulus plan for failing to boost employment. “Where are the jobs?” each of them asked.

Over the next three months, Bonner and Aderholt tried at least five times to steer stimulus-funded transportation grants to Alabama on grounds that the projects would help create thousands of jobs.

They joined more than 100 congressional Republicans and several Democrats who, after voting against the stimulus bill, wrote Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood seeking money from $1.5 billion the plan set aside for local road, bridge, rail and transit grants. The $862 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act passed last year with no Republican votes in the House and three in the Senate.

Socialist liberal kooks labeling anybody a hypocrite is a hoot!
Once a bill is passed it is the peoples Representatives obligation to try and get some of the money the constituents have had confiscated from them back to their districts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our own gadfly dingy harry with all of his clout manages to get only 61 cents of every dollar Nevadans pay back to Nevada!
As usual the people supporting doofus ron paul stacked the deck in the straw poll with less than 1/4 of the 10,000 attendees participating in the poll!
Why they even gave ron paul a voice is mysterious, he should be attending libertatian conventions not CONSERVATIVE conventions!

TAKE IT TO THE BANK!!!!!

A few repos were carrying Brown on their shoulders.

Are they gonna throw him off??????????

WASHINGTON, Feb 22 (Reuters) - A modest job-creation bill advanced in the U.S. Senate on Monday as the chamber's newest Republican bucked his party and sided with Democrats on a $15 billion package of tax cuts and highway spending.

Republican Scott Brown joined four other Republicans, 55 Democrats and two independents to overcome a procedural hurdle that sets up a final vote later this week.

Brown was widely hailed as a conservative hero after his surprise victory in Massachusetts last month gave Republicans enough seats to block most Democratic legislation.

His election prompted President Barack Obama and his fellow Democrats to call for increased bipartisanship, and an earlier version of the bill was written with Republican input.

But key Republicans withdrew their support after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid scaled it back.

Brown said the bill was not perfect but would help put people back to work.

"I hope my vote today is a strong step toward restoring bipartisanship in Washington," he said in a statement.

The bill includes a tax credit for businesses that hire unemployed workers, subsidies for state and local construction bonds and $19.5 billion to shore up a highway-construction fund.

Much of the cost is offset by a crackdown on offshore tax shelters.

Senator Brown isn't a true CONSERVATIVE. Everybody knew that from the git-go but he sure was a much better choice than the socialist donkey ditz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was elected solely to torpedo the "destroy the best health care system in the history of mankind" bill!
His vote wasn't really needed on the jobs bill and he has to consider his re-election chances in socialist land tax-a-chu-setts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They can't help themselves.

More bull sh1t.

A number of Congressmen are out there in media land saying that the new health reform bill requires that Congress must enroll in the new health insurance exchanges.

Rep. John Fleming (D-LA) and Sen. Thomas Carper (D-Del.) told viewers of Varney & Co. just that.

They are incorrect, as well intentioned as they may be. Congressmen do not have to enroll in the new insurance exchange, the new law says. Only if they still want the rich, taxpayer-paid for benefits they get now.

It’s unfortunate that taxpayers like you and I have to read the bill that they wrote, but obviously don’t understand, to stop the fastballs they are trying to whip by you.

A bill many in Congress may not have read, despite the fact the bill gives the IRS more powers to enforce it (See EMac blog, "IRS Gains Broader Powers Under Health Reform").

The new health reform bill--specifically section 1312 subsection D, see below--does not specify “that members of Congress will be required to be in the same [insurance] exchange as every other American,” as Rep. Fleming told Varney & Co. viewers.

Congressmen do not have to enroll in the new insurance exchanges, the new law says. The bill does not mandate that anyone in this country enroll in the new exchanges--it only mandates that you must buy insurance, notes Fox News analyst James Farrell.

Congress, Please Read Your Health Reform Bill

Bob,
His numbers are terrible and by all accounts have been going in a downward spiral for months. Also, all these jobs that he has created, please take a look at all of the hiring in the past 3 months and tell me how much of it was NOT government jobs. these are teh stories that are not being reported by the great Obamer news networks. Bob, do a little researcha dn look at the numbers. You would learn a lot and understand what is actually happening in our country.

How about speaking up on all the money it is going to save, stir up jobs, and get the economy started, yea, you know I am talking abouit health care. How about all the companies having to cut back workforce and benifits because of the new health care reform. How about them having to take away the low cost prescription plans? Going to cost them in the muti millions to Billions. Now, who do you think is going to be affected? It will be the consumers for having to pay a higher price for those items and more people laid off. It is economics, and you can't win economics with a shell game.

The stock market is climbing.

One could view this as good news for this administration.
The policies put in place are reaping favorable gains.

Bush ever find those WMD he has tooted to the American ppl yet?
There is a "Clown" on this board he should be talking to. Maybe they are hidden in his wastebasket.....
Rolling

What emerges today is an unflattering picture of Bush’s war presidency. He got WMDs wrong. He ran an embarrassingly “weak shop,” ignoring destructive bureaucratic infighting in Washington. Most astonishing, Bush’s critical judgments were so badly flawed he allowed himself to be persuaded that leaving a petty Arab tyrant like Hus sein in power actually threatened the mighty United States of America, which defeated Nazi Germany and Japan and won the cold war against the Soviet Union.

It is simply mind-boggling.
