I voted for Obama first time around and grew to regret it....

I voted for Trump and have grown to regret it....

Many racers and business people LOVE Trump....

We are in a bind......AGAIN!

If you believe Biden and the Dems are our salvation.....vote Blue....

I don't and won't....

I was disenchanted enough with the republican party that I also voted for Husain first time around. I regretted it. I don't regret the Trump vote.
My question for you is why you regret voting for Trump? Was there another candidate that you would have preferred? Has Trump disappointed you in certain areas?

Your views are your own and I respect that. Just trying to understand.

We'd be here all day if we continue so I'll just say Trump is far from an ideal President IMHO.

I will hold my nose and vote for him as I did 4 years ago....

Trump was/is cringe worthy in many respects based on our preconceptions of how a president is supposed to act.
Seems like he broke that mold and perhaps for the better in the long run.

We hired a gunfighter to be sheriff and clean up the town.
He seems to have accomplished quite a bit of that in a short time with more needing to be done.

The Democratic party has become the Borg.
Do you want to be Borg?

I get it. I wish he would reduce tweeting, and think more before he speaks. But in the same breath I will say it is refreshing to hear a President who, unfiltered, will speak his mind. he doesn't doctor it up and worry about political correctness or whose feelings might be dented. So it's as close to the truth as you will ever hear. Refreshing.

And I have to be real with my expectations. He hasn't been as tough on China as I would like. Frankly he hasn't been as conservative as I would like. I don't agree with every one of his positions and statements. But someone who checks all my boxes, wouldn't have been elected. So I will take the things I can get.

Remember Goodyear is one of the few American Companies that Have brought back manufacturing from off shore. Funny how the fact the Corp leaders, not political types, are exactly why manufacturing, and it’s America jobs, has been outsourced to other countries. Companies that change that without being forced to are my hero’s.

What kind of change are you looking for? Bringing back jobs I applaud at every turn. But the supposed corporate letter really said nothing. If the workplace is to be politics free, then fine make it so for all politics. If you are going to allow folks to virtue signal support to certain specific groups, then you ought to be open to others not being supportive of it. Trying to pick and choose is a recipe for disaster. The best way they can promote a diverse workforce it to keep the politics and virtue signalling out of the workplace, and hire based upon who is most qualified and has the best character traits for the job at hand. When you lose sight of doing that and make decisions based upon other things, you are already compromised.

But you don't have a problem backing a guy that voted for the North American Free Trade Agreement and permanent normal trade relations with China. And as Obama's No. 2, he supported the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Politicians one would hope are doing things to "steer" our country in a way that makes our lives either better or at least hold our standard of living in a world that has changed drastically since.....Well take your pick of when....

That is not true and has not been for many years. Outsourcing jobs is Capitalism at work.....and the Stock market....

Our govt. let it all happen by not passing tariffs and whatever other things they could do to stem that tide....They did the opposite....encouraged it....SOLD US OUT

As Crazy Mike says....THE RULING CLASS did this....and will continue no matter what party is in office....THATS WHAT THEY DO !!

Trump does say things that appeals to HIS base as does every other Politician...He bashed China constantly for taking advantage of us and one has to wonder about the VIRUS as a pay back....far fetched? Not really....NIXON went to China 50 years ago and it opened things up to what they probably thought was gonna benefit US greatly......It did and it didn't......We got cheap stuff and in the process gave up way more than we saved from getting all their cheap junk....

Who's fault is it....Everybodies and all the Politicians since......

Think cars.....Japan....South Korea.....Free trade for years and years.....US car makers on life support and govt. bailouts (US) bailed them out....Japan blew us away years ago on cars...but at least they are an ally and not an enemy....anymore...

The reason most people think Trump is good is he is already very wealthy and is not trying to line his pockets.....I agree with this...for the most part

Trade policies have been disastrous and are what's driving America's demise.....Trump ain't lying there....

The Dems think thy can tax and spend their way out of everything.....Tax the rich....Tax Business...

This ain't the FDR 1930's......

Capitalism is not perfect and it needs to be managed.

I fix stuff....build stuff...I'm no economist but it's plain as the nose on my face our Politicians s-u-c-k and some should be in friggen jail for steering us into the mess we are in today....

That's because Goodyear sells to police agencies for damn near free. I was the guy that bought those marked car tires for our community. Tire store couldn't get those tires as cheap as I could.

So, the virtue signalling in the Goodyear response says no political group support, but anything regarding race or equity is ok. Well, by looking at name only, black lives matter would qualify as some sort of race, diversity or equity thing. If only they weren't really a political organization......
Oh and of course we support the police. We love the police. This can't be said strongly enough.

So in summary:
-BLM ok
-LGBTQRSTUV is ok because, you know, equity
-MAGA no good. Because the President uses it. So it's bad of course. After all, nobody wants to make America great right?
-We will squelch the blue lives mattering, but we sure love our police!
-And for the record, anything conservative in nature at all will be considered political and thus is out.

I think I pretty much summed it up.

It’s now crystal clear where Goodyear stands as a company. Once again, our President is right. The time is long overdue that real Americans pushback and pushback hard! A boycott isn’t hard enough, bankrupt them!!!

Ok, so hear me out on this. I know every time I speak up on this I open myself up for criticism. But here is how I see this situation as a business owner myself.
An employee in a Goodyear facility made up a slide for a training course and never got approval of it from corporate.

If any of you here are business owners, you know it is impossible to control every employees every move at all times. Especially in a corporation of Goodyear's size!

I am a Goodyear guy. So when this first got out, I got blown up! I'll admit,at first I was pissed at GY! But I stayed calm, and looked at it through rational eyes.

This is an American company that stated today, they don't support those policies in the visual. Corporations of this size are led by smart people. Why would smart people that provide tires for almost every police car in this country not support our police? Only stupid people would do that! Why would smart people that sell tires to racers (who are majority Trump supporters) publicly not support conservative beliefs? Only stupid people would do that publicly!

Goodyear provides jobs right here in America for a lot of American families. Some of those families are people I call friends. I would hate to see my friends and other Americans lose their jobs because of a foolish/careless mistake made by one employee!

I do not think it was Presidential or the right thing for Trump to call for a Boycott of Goodyear.
I think it just made Trump look bad.

I think he should have made people aware of it and then the people decide if they want to support that type of business.

With that said one of the things I like (and Hate) about Trump is he says what is on his mind with no filter.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.
