Brodix Dragslayer or AFR 220 CNC?

Both heads complete for .700 roller and I am way under that lift.
I am leaning towards the Brodix Dragonslayer "as cast" with cnc chambers. Why?
I was a little disappointed in the AFR 210 CNC we put on the other truck. .2 slower than a very old set of Track 1 that had been hand-ported about 20 years ago.

Just throwing it out there to see if anyone has used or has a friend that tried the Dragonslayers.

Hi Jok,
I am running the AFR 220 non-CNC heads on my 414.
Siebert has told me that he believes they are the best performing 23 degree head out of the box. He has tested a similar combo with the CNC and it didnt produce any more power.

I was 6.07 @ 112 at the et finals, and 6.08 in montgomery. My truck is 3050 with me in it.

btw- AFR warranties their castings for something like 10 years to the original owner with a receipt.

AFR 220's (1065) here, other than the unfortunate placement of the spark plugs with my headers, they have performed quite well.
Equal or slightly quicker to vintage Track 1's, and "867" Pontiac heads, on less cubic inches, (383 vs. 406) same camshaft specs except 4/7 swap.

694 --- I dont know what correction factor was used, but it was in August and using outside air.

I think that HP rating is very conservative considering the et to weight of your truck. Nice!

We have a set of 227 cnc'd factory that are 15 yr old that went 6.1x on a 406 at 2700lbbs, I'd go a 227 or a 235 head CNC'd, and we have set of old track 1's that I spent alot of $$ on to get them to run good.

What size (220 – 242) could be best in cnc type for 400 -420 cu in? Is it possible that all could produce the exact same results?

I have a CNC program for the DS casting. After CNC with a 2.100 valve it is 242cc.

Had a customer running 10.teens@3100lbs with an as-cast headed 406. We ran the program and left everything else the same and it now runs 9.80's. About a 70hp gain.

Just as an example.

IMO the 300-110 is the best OOB manifold you can run. But ported and size, 15hp.. I also like a 2925 on a 406 but it really needs a lot of porting. But that would net 25ish.

All of the newer manifolds are a little big.

This is a ported 2925 for a reference.
