New for this year running front and a mid plate.. I am being told i don't need a spacer for the convertor with this set up because the mid plate is only 1/8 think. I didn't need anything added to the snout when I ran a .090 steel mid plate. I did when I went to a 3/16" plate that I have now. It can be borderline on the 1/8" plate so that is why I posted what I did about mocking it up. I wouldn't want to be installing it in the car based on someones guess unless it was an answer from your converter manufacturer.
I would still stick it together before hand. LOL

If the combo was fine before when you didn’t have mid plate then it sure won’t hurt to use 1/8” spacer with mid plate.

LOL i am going put it all in and check everything. Cars going through a rebuild. Was built and painted in 1993. Smith racecraft front end fiber front end and doors and new paint this year. It weighted 2975 with me in it before.

The only way you shouldn't install spacers is if you were at 1/16" or less before, which is unlikely.

This is an easy check once the trans is bolted up with the midpalate, push the converter as far rearward as possible, test to see if a 1/8" drill bit will fit between converter pad and flex plate pad. If it clears, the check a 3/16 drill bit.
Your target is at least 1/8" but no more than 3/16. Add washers or spacers to attain the proper spec.

Just make sure the converter pilot is still engaged in trans after it is bolted up, might have to put longer pilot on it, or snout, whichever you want to call it.

Like was already said if it was right before it will need a spacer now. Check out Coans website, they have what ya need. COA-980520 - CHEVY CONVERTER SPACER KIT (1/8" MOTOR PLATE)
