I'm leaving no stone unturned & thinking outside the box. I've been thinking about trying a DOT drag radial for some time.

Seeing I'll be running 1/8th the majority of my races this year. I decided to give the shorter dia. DOT radials a shot. I've been watching a bracket car similar to mine put down some pretty impressive 60's & ETs with a M/T ET Street Radial Pro.

Late last year Hoosier updated their DOT drag radial. It seems they are a game changer over their older model & the M/T radial. They have been working really well in both no-prep & prep racing.

The 1st link is the Hoosiers I'm going to test/race soon.

Have you already made the purchase? It would be interesting after trying these that you went back to review the best of what you’ve tried prior to compare these to. I can’t believe the price of tires, but I’m getting old.

I haven't pulled the trigger yet. Still thinking about if I want to try these before the Spring Fling Million event. I have 2 more points weekends with 4 races & 2 TnT's before the Fling. The main reason for these radials is for an outlaw, basically no-prep track in Northern NV. race in June. Regardless, I need to test these radials sometime.

I have a good many new changes to evaluate before the Fling & these radials would add to testing. I have the new T&D rockers coming, hopefully soon so I can use more boost. I have a smaller ProCharger pulley & shorter belts coming for more boost.

I'm not looking for ET; I'm searching for more 1/8th mile mph for the Fling. The shorter tire will help with that. I've been 125 mph in the 1/8th with the bracket tune, but would like to be around 130 mph.

I'm probably overloading my plate, but it appears to be the direction I'm going!

2BKING is running out of time & wanted to get nitrous on the car for a scramble button if needed. Probably needs wait for another time. HMMMM

Hard to believe that what passes for "tread" on those tires passes muster with the DOT, but all that counts is how they work on the track right Smile

I once got caught in the rain on the street with M/T DOT drag radials on my mid-11-sec Chevelle, and that's something you don't ever want to do twice.

The way I look at these new DOT radials, they are wolves in sheep's clothing. I think the last bullet statement sums it up well.
