CSRacingDouble roller timing chain has gone stiff
As the title says, I noticed that my double roller timing chain is really stiff when I took it apart. I'm likely going to put a belt on it but I've never had a chain go stiff. By stiff I mean the individual roller elements do not rotate freely.
Anyone seen this before? Root cause?

That's a wore out chain. Links locked - vibration - harmonics.
Do a belt for sure.

GoobIf that was a good quality chain set, you better re-check the gear alignment when you re-assemble it.

I can't recall running across a stiff double roller set.

RPROGASDo yourself a favor save some money and get a belt, you will never regret the decision.

CSRacingI'll have to double check my notes but as I recall it was a Cloyes set. Never seen a chain go stiff like this either. Very strange but thanks for the replies.
