Trying to figure out the reason someone would install ladder bars upside down on a backhalf car? Car is a 3200 pound 1/8th mile bracket car with 4.56 gear & 31x14x15 slick & it has double adjustable strange 12/150 shocks & springs. Is there a reason why someone would install these bars like this? If so, what is the benefit if any at all. If there is a good reason please explain?

Seems to me the strength of the bar would be compromised by doing that because they are engineered to be stressed opposite of what they are seeing. Now why someone would do it is beyond me.

For some reason I saw more then a couple cars like that in the 80's and early 90's. No idea why other then alot of these cars were home built. First Backhalf I ever helped on was redoing a car that had upside down ladder bars. They didn't make a lot of HP back in those days so likely didn't matter much. Meziere Tech. Make sure your water pump is on whenever you check your coolant level.
