sounds like the coil wasn't your issue.
so you bought a twin blade carb from TMC aka Tony Morris, 1 year has passed and it still ain't right, what is Tony saying, what has he done about it?This message has been edited. Last edited by: 1320racer,

tony has built me a totally new carb and I also bought a carb for sunset performance when I had my engine freshened up and I am questions some issues with it since I have already found issues with it simple basic stuff that should have been caught before it was shipped out. so now Im trying to see if I can correct this issues myself

so which carb are you having issues with, TMC or Get'M? Further, is the Get'M carb you bought from Sunset also a twin blade? That said, I've run carbs built by Holley, Pro Systems and ATM over the past 3+ decades, 4150s and Dominators on numerous BBC engines ranging in HP from 600 to 1300 and not one has ever had an issue out of the box getting from A to B under WOT. I don't understand why you always seem to have carb issues. https://drr.infopop.cc/eve/foru...077053896#1077053896 https://drr.infopop.cc/eve/foru...777018896#7777018896 https://drr.infopop.cc/eve/foru...247081796#9247081796 https://drr.infopop.cc/eve/foru...637079696#9637079696This message has been edited. Hey this is Tony Morris from TMC Carburetors, 1320Racer I Hope this answers your questions! The first Twin Blade I build was replaced with a complete new one right away and was built the same as the first one, it was tested on a customers car in Gainesville so that we knew it would work when bolted on, as far as I know he didn’t have anymore issues from that point on! The original carb the first one was tested on a dyno last year and made 980hp, then tested on my own personal car, no issues were found and it even had a runner up finish! I was then contacted this year to build a 4 barrel which I did for (SG) class racing, it was set up with 3 circuit metering blocks, with the third circuit plugged, but was set up to function if they were unplugged if needed! Tony, I really don’t care and I stated that this poster Seems to have issues with every carb/builder he has purchased s carb from. That said, my offer to you still stands, build me a carb with the same CFM as my 2.400 blade ATM, that will have me running a tenth quicker and 1 mph faster with a money back guarantee if it doesn’t and I’ll give you my credit card number now!

So Tony signed off, once again not replying to my offer. Obviously not very confident his twin blade can out perform my carb. As I’ve stated before, I don’t believe there is any performance advantage on the time slip when comparing a twin blade to the correct sized and calibrated for the engine dominator. Buyer beware of marketing!

A rich intermediate circuit usually causes a "ratty" burnout or part throttle situation. Other than that - the intermediate circuit is part of the overall tune and should not be problematic if sized properly. I will add that there are posers out there who claim to be carb-experts. These posers often misuse the intermediate circuit, causing over rich conditions at wrong rpm's. They really don't have a clue about carburetors, but do have a silver tongue when it comes to sales. Do your due diligence...This message has been edited. Last edited by: Mike Laws, Mike Laws Performance

That is wise advice Mr. Laws. I am sure you forgot more about carburetors than a dozen people who are selling their services or on here know. It is really nice to have someone who REALLY understands a dynamic complex system such as a carburetor with all its pros cons and compromises, chime in. One of those guys when they are talking, you should just shut up listen and hope to learn something. Thanks, I may send you a pm with a quick question...... BG

Ed, As I usually say... Ya killin me Smalls!!! Not trying to get in the middle of your offer to Tony or anyone else for that matter,,, BUT!!! Moons ago before I purchased me current carb from Mike Laws at BLP, another big-name carb builder that you speak very highly of and have used, let's just say had a large/loud mouth plugging his new big CFM carbs! Well, I made him the same offer you made Tony, nothing but crickets!!!!! Tony is not tooting his carbs in any fashion like your carb builder was, whom BTW has vanished from the scene! Tony does not know you as your carb builder did not know me so why should either send us carbs? Only real difference is your carb builder had a loudmouth on social media plugging his carb which is the only reason I challenge him. Buyers should always beware of marketing. As you know, I have dealt with both Mike and Tony for a number of years now with my carb needs, both have provided excellent service after the sale, have provided a top-notch product and a wealth of helpful knowledge. What you or anyone else choose to do with this information is up to the end user. It's a free country with a number of good carb builders, spend your money as you see fit. Remember one key fact about all racing engines, they are always smarter than anyone else and it's the tuners job is to listen to what the motor is telling you it wants!!! It doesn't matter what you or I or anyone else thinks it wants! If you really want to try my carb or a TB carb, plan a trip to NED for a track rental later this year. If it ever stops raining every weekend, I may see you at Atco next month if you're going.

One of the things I learned as a fleet manager is that there are some that can break a bowling ball. Doesn't make any difference how much you do for the bowling ball they can still break it. I once built an E-85 carb for a customer of my engine builder. It ran fine on our dyno engine with a Lamda in the sweet spot of .79-.81. Three weeks later he was back. It ain't right. It ran like crap on the dyno. We broke the carb down to find every adjustable orifice different from what it was delivered. Then the customer says, well the internet said everything you did was wrong. A tune-up by internet consensus. Luckily, the dyno engine was still mounted. We changed the calibration back and it ran the was it did when delivered. This is why I don't build carbs for others. If I did it would have to be by recommendation only. I've asked lots of tech questions here. I find this group is the best for answers. There would be no upside to him to do this, only a downside. ____________________________ 2017 and 2018 Osage Casinos Tulsa Raceway Park No-Box Champion 2018 Div4 Goodguys Hammer award winner

Agree because the twin blade will NOT run a tenth quicker nor 1 mph faster!

Even if it did there isn't enough ROI for the risk involved. ____________________________ 2017 and 2018 Osage Casinos Tulsa Raceway Park No-Box Champion 2018 Div4 Goodguys Hammer award winner

Dude you're as nobody as the rest here and if none of this matters to you why do you always go off with your normal tag line? Drag racing isn't life and probably won't be around much longer anyway. What I have done worth talking about is life and I have more than enough to talk about. Have a good day man. ____________________________ 2017 and 2018 Osage Casinos Tulsa Raceway Park No-Box Champion 2018 Div4 Goodguys Hammer award winner
