For anyone interested, the 1.98 planetary set picked me up approximately .06 in the 60' off the foot but the 1/8th mile ET remained about the same. It accomplished my goal of having some rpm adjustability off the footbrake. Before the switch, I had to crush it to be .020 on the tree.... I can now go red Big Grin

MPH was about the same, maybe .2-.3 slow. This was not an A-B-A test and the air was really good this past weekend. My previous quickest 60' off the FB was 1.48ish running 6.7x's @99.xx MPH. With the 1.98s 1.42ish 60' with the same ET & MPH.

I'm bored this morning so here's my first of 2021 story. Let's see, I tried a new to me (Sunset) electric throttle stop in Vegas last week and used my 1150 Quickfuel carburetor. Things didn't start out so well.

First rattle out of the box I let off the button and the car dies when it goes on the stop. I restart it and drive down the track. Went back to the pits and looked things over. Didn't really like the way the electric solenoid was acting so I changed the stop over to air. Left the carb as is. Back to the lanes for the next run.

Same result, car died when it went on the stop. Restarted it and drove down the track. Now I'm pissed!!

Changed to my other carburetor and checked my eight year old battery. Battery not looking so good so I go down to Figspeed and get a new battery. (Thanks Les) and charge it up and put it in. Didn't make the last session so now I wait till Friday time trials.

Lo and behold the dumb thing goes right down Broadway so I'm not sure if it was the battery or the carb change that fixed it. Didn't matter, the car is running again. So that was the start to 2021 for me. Now we go back to Vegas in a couple of weeks for the National.

Just about done installing the primer system on my car, just need to mount fuel can and run a couple of wires. Oil is changed, both fuel filters and oil filters are clean, tank is flushed out. Still need to mount new tongue jack, doing that this coming weekend. It was expensive but a nice piece!! Gonna be nice not to have to wait forever to raise the nose of my trailer, and also worry about the jack failing. The electric on it now barely does the job, and it takes forever! I'm also getting another 6" of jack travel which will help big time!

2740 with me in it. 32-16 stiff side wall emties lol trap is 7100

Car has always had a 4.86 in it until the updating. It had run as fast as 5.66 at 2970lbs before in really good weather. Talked into trying the 4.30 gear. We took 230 of the car with no real improvement in e.t like i thought but Motor was hurt 3 broken springs a broke ring and the convertor was trashed. the 5.68 was the fastest since drive train was completely freshened up. Really thought there where 50's in the future just from the pounds cut of the car.

Finished up the install of the new tongue jack on the trailer... HOLY HELL what a difference! Wish I had gotten it sooner!

Still working on the primer, waiting for the boss to bring me the plate I need to mount the tank on the car....they run a fab shop too but I had to wait until they cut a section from a larger sheet...Going to run the wiring tomorrow for the primer and do the switch. Might take an hour or so, and it'll be done except for the tank mount. Other than adjusting it and making a couple of changes in the grid for the altitude, I'm ready to go for this coming weekend. Season opens the 10-11th for testing, I can't wait!

Mark is the best and if you have a problem he is at many races in Div-1 and will fix it on the spot if needed.

I sold my blower and bought a procharger.Made a major mathmatical error and front drive procharger too long to fit.
Had to cut the car in half and add 15 inches behind the seat.
Now completey rewire...re plumb and re cable.
minor nightmare!!
