Id love to hear what his is. Anything that can help cool the inside temp here in Creamatoria would get my attention.

1320racerFYI, this is the original sealant used on Intech and Vintage trailers and many motorhomes...
Bondaflexsil 199 CG is a general purpose, one-component, non-sag, elastomeric,
100% RTV neutral cure silicone sealant.

It's a Gaco product. If you will be at Fling, he and I both will be there.

I used about 5 gallons on the 38 foot motorhome, and half of that on a 28ft trailer. I put it on a little thick due to the heat in Texas, worked great and never cracked. Did all of my caulking work before putting it down so it was on top of the caulk.

Rob7181Kenny Anderson on here use to say that 3M 5200 marine sealant was the best to use on trailer roofs. Hopefully Kenny will chime in on it.

1320racerKenny won't chime in on my thread or at least won't with any helpfull reply but thanks for the info.
As of now, I'm going to go with this...
for a few reasons...
1. I'm very familar with Henry products.
2. a friend with the same MH used this product 2 years ago just around the perimter and around all penetration and I've been on his roof to inspect it.
That said, at $500 for a 5 gallon bucket, I'm probably also going to coat the entire roof to ensure no leaks and gain the benefit of the coating's reflective properties
to sun's heat and UV rays, which they claim is worth a 15-20 degree interior heat reduction.
Also going to use their caulking anywhere the original maybe failing...

CashflowIf I were gonna do the whole roof Ed, I would look at this product. They have a video on YouTube you can watch.

That is similiar to the Gaco coating on my MH and trailer. My MH is silver and grey and trailer is grey so I went with grey coating.

1320racerYea there are several manufactures offering a 100% silicone coating. with Henry being an industry leader in roofing products that I have first hand experience with.
FYI, The Blackjack product mentioned here is not an alternative to Henry's 100% silicone Tropi-Cool. If that's what you want, this is their product at about $300 for a 5 gallon bucket

Good advice. Not all roof tops are the same. Definitely find out, from the RV OEM, what they used on yours.
