I've been looking at electric coolers for use at the racetrack. I think I have it narrowed down to the one I want to purchase in the link below. I would like to here if anybody is already using one, the brand & any type of review they may have. https://www.dometic.com/en-us/...tic-cfx3-55im-220584 2BKING looking to keep my beer cold! 1980 Camaro Taking the Best Working Small Tire Shyt Box & making it Greater Than Before! 3000 lbs. Bryan, before I paid $1000 for a cooler I'd buy a 3' tall apartment fridge for $300 and mount it on your workbench in the trailer...I know you run your genny a lot at the track and the fridge will stay cold for many hours when the generator isn't running. Plug the 110v into the trailer the night before to get it cold to start with. Nice to have shelves and a freezer for food as I know you stay in your trailer.. if the workbench is a problem set it on the floor by the side door for easy access.. . Dave F J B

I kicked this around for years. Always knew I wanted a Dometic but couldn't convince myself that it would be worth it. Was walking out of Summit one day and they had cheap branded version on sale. I figured a few hundred was worth the experiment. That was 2 seasons ago and it's still going strong. When it gives up I'll replace it with a quality dual zone unit. The 12 volt option is a must IMO. I plug it in whenever the trailer is rolling. It stays cold from the first day of the season until the last.

I have a small fridge just like Dave. My trailer is always plugged up at home so any water or drinks I have in it will still be cold by the time I get to the track and it works great. ____________________________ 2017 and 2018 Osage Casinos Tulsa Raceway Park No-Box Champion 2018 Div4 Goodguys Hammer award winner

When I used to be a racer and had a trailer, I always kept my trailer plugged in for the fridge and to keep the trailer batteries charged. Also nice to have 110v power for tools and to use the lighting at night when working on the dragster in the trailer.. . Dave F J B

Thanks for the inputs so far guys! You have me looking & researching some more. FYI, that cooler is AC, DC & a nice pricey battery pack with solar option. Yes, I keep my trailer on AC while it's parked to keep the battery charged. Dave, my front work bench is occupied with the toolbox & my roadside bench is needed for bench work. I don't think I have the height to the upper cabinets to mount that small apartment fridge. While the cooler will primarily be used for racing. It will be taken on 3-4 day fishing/camping trips using the trailer as base camp. Then load cooler into the bed of truck for the different excursions. 2BKING thanks you guys again for making me do more research. 1980 Camaro Taking the Best Working Small Tire Shyt Box & making it Greater Than Before! 3000 lbs. I bought this refrigerator, If I remember right it was about $150 and then built the cabinets around it. Under the refrigerator is the trailer batteries and charger. I also put a $10 child lock on the door from Amazon so door can not come open going down the road. There is no way I would consider a $1000 cooler for my trailer. Not going to happen now or ever. https://postimg.cc/gallery/np3zpruo/ "Dunning-Kruger Effect" -a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. Bryan, I have a CF18, look at the specs and if its something you are interested in and your coming out to the track this coming weekend, I will bring it with me and you can take it and try it out for a while. P.S. it has the insulated cover with it

Thanks Scott! I looked at the specs & it's DC only, correct? I really want AC/DC but I thank you for the most generous offer, no need for me to try out. I'm not worried about the Dometic brand, they seem to be one of better brands. Are you planning to race this coming weekend? 2BKING 1980 Camaro Taking the Best Working Small Tire Shyt Box & making it Greater Than Before! 3000 lbs. Pump Gas 436

Thanks to Seabass & Rusty, I'm looking at the next size up dual zone Dometic (not being sarcastic). I just need to decide if I need/want the freezer, but it doesn't have to be used as one. https://www.dometic.com/en-us/...tic-cfx3-75dz-220585 2BKING 1980 Camaro Taking the Best Working Small Tire Shyt Box & making it Greater Than Before! 3000 lbs. Absolutely! Get the biggest, most expensive one ever made. Not my money. Seriously I could never pay that much for a trailer refrigerator but it is your money and if somehow you think it is worth it then do it. https://postimg.cc/gallery/np3zpruo/ "Dunning-Kruger Effect" -a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. Thanks for the idea! I'm still debating on the cooler I'm going to buy. I found the Dometic cheaper at Summit & also found the one below I'm considering. https://proshop.summitracing.c...&SortOrder=Ascending 2BKING 1980 Camaro Taking the Best Working Small Tire Shyt Box & making it Greater Than Before! 3000 lbs. B King . I run a 47L 12dc only fridge/cooler . Just stepped up from the ice age . I race out of a ute and open trailer , camp at track . I can run the fridge through the ute , I also have a solar blanket/AGM battey combo to run it at the track plus a 240v-12v transformer to run from mains power . I use an Aust assembled Everkool . Now in reality most are somewhat similar biggest difference is compressor . Of course some are plastic case or metal . They will all do it a little tough in very high ambiant temperatures , get a cover at worst they will protect the case at best help with insulation . I am racing this friday/saturday forecast is 39deg C friday . See how it goes . Tex

We run two, a fridge and freezer cooler in our LQ trailer, both are 12 volt or AC power. We run off of 12 volts running down the road and plug into AC at the track. We keep them on top of the generator housing inside the cargo area. If I remember they were about $250 each. They work out really nice and easily hold enough for 2-3 days at the track.

Thanks everyone for your opinions, I decided on the Summit cooler/freezer for $440. I'm going to order it next week. I'm at the track this weekend for 3 days, kind of wishing I had it to test but didn't want to rush the decision. Tex, thanks & good luck on your racing! 2BKING 1980 Camaro Taking the Best Working Small Tire Shyt Box & making it Greater Than Before! 3000 lbs. Pump Gas 436
