before tire growth, it is slipping 4%. He doesn't have racepak and I saw on another site he's being told his "converter guy missed by a mile". It's a Coan converter that looks excellent actually. So if someone knows SW, let him know. I've talked to him online before, he's a super nice guy. He's just being given bad info on another site. He could shift a bit higher rpm but doesn't have to. Converter is fine though. If anything, he could put the 4.56 back in the car. With tire growth it'll cross the same rpm it does now within 100 rpms give or take slipping 0% 168 mph. His Hughes converter was slipping 5.5% 165 mph, before tire growth. The new Coan is a little better in that aspect. Looks great actually. This message has been edited. Torque converter is perfect Super Pro bracket racing. 4.56 gear makes it even better. Agreed. Coan did a helluva job with it.

Hi Mike. I didn't see any bad info given on the Yellow bullet transtech section. Feel free to drop by and take part in the conversation. Hutch

I'm sure we can agree , to say the converter builder missed it by a mile, is bad info. In fact, I'm positive we can agree for the simple reason it contradicts your suggestions too. It's like I told the OP of that thread today, in a FB PM. I tried to keep him from having an awkward conversation with Coan, by relaying this message, in this fashion. We were not able to communicate on FB messenger until today. There's no reason for me to critique your suggestions, we already agree. I'm gonna pass on participating in any satanic sites from here on out, but thanks for the invite. If I had known that site was run by an admitted satanist who rules over that site as satan would the real world, I'd have never been there in the first place. Now that I understand satanism after research, you won't see me in there. Plus I'm positive we already agree, to say the converter builder missed it by a mile, is bad info. Coan did a helluva job on this converter. This is exactly what you want Super Pro Bracket racing with this power. Inferno should have went this route when I suggested it when he switched to a powerglide, he'd struggle with chassis settings far less than he has. And he's another in there saying the converter was wrong. SW got the right chit. If it were me I'd have the 4.56 gear in it but what he has will work well too, as the time slips already indicate, in just a handful of runs. They're good. Show promise on a all new un-tested combo. We can agree on all this, it's observable fact. I wouldn't think about changing this converter a drop. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Mike Rietow,

I'd probably up the line pressure on this car just a hair for durability of the transmission Super Pro bracket racing at this power level. This along with the 4.56 will have this thing crossing 1/4 around 0% to 2% after tire growth at the same rpm it is now. Probably 230-245psi. Transyn transmission fluid. If I remember correctly it's 210 - 215 psi now which is a hair low possibly for durability, at this power level. This could achieve a 600 - 650 - 700 rpm drop on the shift possibly, or close. That would be my approach in refining it. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Mike Rietow,

Satanistic site? My tech section is solid and has been top notch for over 15 years and counting. If your attraction is the wrong sub section, that's your choice not the sites. Hutch

The best on the planet by far. I'll find a better way to reach out next time than this. I hated to see SW talked out of something good, or even a awkward conversation with the builder is all.

Hey Mike any chance to get a picture of your fixture in the vise holding that case

Sure, I've got an old greasy core on it now or I'd bear hug it off of there and get a photo for ya. It's just old scraps we welded together probably 20-25 years ago now, U shaped with two sbc head bolts at the end of U, aligned with the dowel holes in any sbc - BBC chevrolet bellhousing. Here's the other side, it's just U shaped.

The admitted satanist finally snapped, the Evidence was getting to him. He couldn't take it anymore, his lies were being systematically broken down and dismantled one by one. He had no where left to go but name calling, like an elementary school girl. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Mike Rietow,

That's pretty neat. I especially like how you just clamp it in a conventional vise. No need for a dedicated fixture attached to the bench. Take care. Tom Worthington If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

Good call, that's exactly the point, the whole wall is a work bench now with the black tool box with the stainless top, but even before it free'd up the left side of the bench to do a transmission and I could do an engine off the right side with an additional vice in the middle to do rings. Makes it a little more efficient.

Mike can you teach some one like me how to figure what my converter slippage is without the grid etc. I never understood how. I just always called the transmission company up and told them I wanted matched up for my combo. And all was well.

Hmmmm, I disagree I'll tell ya what gear ya run first. Radial tire right? What diameter? and what rpm do ya cross?

Saw this on FB, looks like missed it by a mile is work'n out alright so far this weekend. Pretty mean for a new combo. I'd be pretty happy with that.
