It comes down to experience. We're writing on the ticket because we had no racepak, only a play back tach. This car isn't fast but for what it is, we haven't seen one like it quicker.

I don't need a racepak to tell me with our new power plant drop back stall with this converter will be 7200 7300, power tells me this. I also don't need a racepak to tell me this converter will slip less than 6% 8300 rpm with the new power plant at around 138 mph for starters, which might be a hair snug, we'll see. There's adjustments we can make there too in order to tailor finish line rpm. That's all forecastable according to the new power. That's how you tell someone (predict) what you're gonna run before you ever make a run, with a new combo.

It's math.

After you look at the racepak, you can again predict how much room for performance improvement there is. Again with accuracy dependent on experience.

With the intention of burning the least amount of fuel, in reaching optimized performance.

Alright so I'm looking around on FB and I see this youtube.

I look at the video a couple times and find myself visualizing what the driveshaft graph would look like.

Is this wrong of me, without first purchasing a racepak of my own? if I have a pretty good idea of how it looks?

Well it helps when you are looking at the whole pic and not one he cropped.

Re-read his post, he's saying without the grid. The portion of the graph I screen saved, I used for the inputs to do the equation for converter slip.

What is in the portion I didn't screen save, do you think will help Footloose figure for converter slip? There's nothing there he can use.

Made in USA 30 year old Craftsman vice. I wouldn't hang a $500 transmission from a Harbor Freight wing wong ching chong vice, much less a $5,000 transmission.

That's 20 years of rust on the trans jig, it don't mind it. You could do pull ups off the trans hanging on the jig, held by the vice.
