wideopen231,250 more crank wortth---_
As for bigger motor. I ran some numbers. A cost vs reward and have figured I can gain more with the 1500 for parts other than rods. Blue steel axle bearings, new intake design( may or may not pick up), few computer pieces all aiming at consistency. Also nerw igniton afer selling one of my MSD mag 12 setup.Hell nobody needs 3 of those. New setup should be 4 to 5 lbs. less and less drag on engine although minor.
Besides when figure need new rods can build new bigger combo.hell should go up more than 500 for same parts by then.

B.C.MalibuSo you would have less clearance with more piston speed is the conclusion……….

wideopen231clearance will be same. Well not the ton I have with old setup. Piston speed is not a concern. Shorter rods with bigger crank makes that pretty much non existent, Plus Ran same crank in TA/Fc.Exact same crank matter fact.
Beside if piston speed is faster that just means more pull on intake track and more into cylinder.

Only if the cam profile is optimized to take advantage in the under the curve area.

wideopen231I would word differently. It helps induction if nothing else screws it up. Bad rings, cam timing and proably one or two more could mess up the gain. It is minor. We are not talking going for 15" vaccum to 20" or anything. At least wlould not thing.LOL Anyone with more money and time than I is welcome to find out and report back.
