I did the same a couple years ago and could not be happier. I had Joe sell my 648 9 deg and build a Aluminum 615 SR20.

Why did you sell the 648- 9* motor? Why did you go with a 615 for new one?

I had a thought I needed to run quicker in TS but didn't want to take the time or expense to do so to pick up 3 tenths or better to run 6.70 or so. What is fast right now will not be in a couple of years in the Top classes if they progress toward faster and faster et as they have over the last few years. Had my fun in TS and just want to race a little simpler and slower so I dropped from 1500HP to 1200HP and a proven reliable simplistic style engine combo that can be ran in SG or TS at some races and be easy to bracket race by myself.

I am bracket racing. I got caught up in the go fast thing but that engine made so much tq, I was always concerned about track conditions. My 615 20 deg will go 4.40's in decent air. The 9* did not fall off as much with weather like the SR20 but was always concerned with track conditions.
615 to me is a great bracket engine, it's "square" almost identical bore and stroke. The torque is manageable and still makes good hp (1225).

That makes good sense for you and TonyB6255. I to like my stuff a little more conservative and durable and that helps on track conditions.

I'm recoating some headers, rebuilding some alternators, rebuilding some rockers, changing valve springs, putting new brake pads on my TBM's and changing tires.
BTW, I don't care what fluid anyone uses but flushing is good.

What’s the advantage of the Pdm for you? They have intrigued me but I couldn’t figure out what would be better. If you are willing to show pictures of the wiring and wire hardware I’m all eyes Certainly the most exciting winter project post! Very nice

On a new build, from what I read they save time and wiring. Fully programmable and can be automatic (fan comes on and off at a temp if you wish) or have one button do multiple things, change colors and use the buttons colors to indicate faults if you want. No relays or fuses to mess with. If something shorts or grounds out you can tell it to rety it x times and if it still faults it will shut it off…
It has, I believe it’s called logic, where you tell it “if the fuel level is full then turn on the dash lights” to tell you the tank is full. This message has been edited. Last edited by: seabass,
