I like the Autometer Pro Comp Ultra lite. Prefer mechanical water temperature as the last two electric I used were not accurate.
I also like the ones that have 270* sweep and lower range so it is easy to tell exactly what temp it is.
On my Front Engine Dragster I built a few years ago I had a digital dash. I went back to mechanical gauges on my newer Altered. Easier for me to read.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

I’m not trying to hijack your discussion, but does anyone make oil pressure and temperature gauges in a size bigger than 2 5/8? Like maybe 3-3 1/2 inch? Easier for us old guys to see. Personally I like the auto meter pro comp mechanical gauges just would like to find something a little larger in diameter.

I have had good luck with the autogage line from autometer. Being on a budget is the reason for using autometers less expensive line.

While not as pretty as straight aligned. I set my gauges so the needle will be straight up at desired reading. Like oil is 100 straight up car idle at 120 and if getting hot nwill be around 90. So to right its great and to left it is getting hot or low. So same with temp and tach.

Easier for old guy than reading numbers

Autometer Pro comp has been my choice for 30 years and see no reason to change except maybe digital dash. As for impotance. Tach, oil and temps.

I have the Autometer Phantom II gauges in my Nova. I like the LED backlight for night racing.
